Chapter 8 Trying To Understand

                                ( Y/N POV )

Now it's only 5 minutes till we head out . So I'm just waiting and thinking . Then I see Dust which is Reiner's horse coming towards me and he is on her . After the incident between Reiner and I , I don't like being around him especially when we are alone . " Hey N/N ! " Reiner said . " Hi . " I said .

                             ( Reiner POV )
Bertholdt asked me to look after Y/N and make sure she stays safe . Of course I'll have her back but she isn't weak .

        ( Flashback to what happened in Trost )

Bertholdt and Annie were screaming at me about Y/N . Annie then started kicking me over and over like she did 5 years ago when we first came here . To this island . It feels like there are some slight gaps in my memory . I don't know why .

They were yelling at me about hurting Y/N . But ... I don't remember even touching her . I would never hurt her . She's one of my best friends . But she has been acting strangely with me since Trost , it's even more uncomfortable when it's just the two of us .

                               ( Y/N POV )

This is quite awkward ... " Hey um , do you think it makes sense putting Eren in the right wing " I ask to make small talk and I was wondering if it was just me questioning that . " Well I don't think so . Maybe they had a plan . " He replies . " Well we can find out from Annie when she gets Eren . Hopefully she can get him . I just want to go home . " I said .

He looked at me as if I just told him titans can fly . " You know Annie is an MP . This is a scouting expedition . You know , for scouts . " He said . " Reiner . We are warriors . " I said , reminding him to get back to a mindset in which we can successfully complete our mission .

" SHUT UP ! I know that ! " He randomly yelled at me out of nowhere . I took a step back , startled by his sudden switch . I wanted him to act like a warrior right now . Which considering the fact that we are completely alone is probably a mistake . I wish Bertholdt or Annie were here .

" I-I'm sorry Reiner ! " I said even though I wasn't in the wrong . I took another step back getting closer to Cookie . He came closer to me and then I hear ringing . Oh god , literally saved by the bell . I could take on Reiner in Titan form with no issues . But as a human I didn't stand a chance at all . I don't know why Reiner gets so angry with me when he's acting like a warrior . I didn't do anything to him . But all I can do is try to understand him .

( A/N ) Alright guys , I can't make any promises about when I'll be able to update with school starting next week and stuff . But I do promise that I will not forget about this book or the people reading it . I will try to update at least twice a month if not more but like I said , no promises .
