Meredith Grey
Once Derek took the brats off the grill he brought them into the house and microwaved the hot dogs he said he could grill them but it was almost time for the party so he didn't have the time.
"Derek" I say.
"Hm?" He hums turning to me instead of leaving.
"I do like you, you know" I say as he walks towards me.
"Okay" he nods as he stands in front of me cupping my face in his hand.
"I do, I really do like you" I say.
"Meredith-" he starts to say with a confused look but I continue to talk.
"I just don't want you to be hoping for something that might not happen but it's not because I don't like you, it's because I really don't want to hurt you" I say softly.
"Oh, oh okay" he says dropping his hand but I hold onto it.
"Derek there could be something" I say.
"But there probably won't be, right?" He asks softly.
"No probably it's just another chance" I frown.
"Meredith you don't have to lie, just tell me I can handle it, okay I probably can't handle it but I could try" he says.
"Derek, I promised you, I'm not lying" I say.
"Okay" he nods.
"I just need to think" I say.
"Right, think, okay" he breaths looking down at his fingers playing with them.
I tilt his head up so he looks at me. "I'll see you soon Derek" I say before softly pushing my lips to his he tenses at first but then relaxes. We kiss passionately but softly for only a little while before he pulls away.
"Think" he whispers before kissing my cheek and leaving my house leaving me to think and I have no idea what I am going to do.

Not too long passed and Derek came back but this time with his parents,
Amelia, and desserts. Then Kathleen showed up with her fiance and chips. Lizzie came from college with alcohol and Nancy and her husband came with juice for the kids or...her kids."Uncle Derek!" The little girl who's name Gracie and she looks about three exclaims.
"Hey girlie" he says bending down to talk to her.
"Missed you" she says.
"I saw you last week" he chuckles.
"Long time go Uncle Der" she says seriously.
"Okay, so long ago" Derek nods and she smiles.
"How are you bud?" He asks Landon who I'm pretty sure is six.
"I'm good" he says.
"How's your hamster?" Derek asks.
"Good" he says smiling slightly.
"Good, well the food is done I bet your parents can't help you get your plate put together" Derek tells him.
"Okay" he says and walks away Gracie close behind him.
"You're really good with them" I say to Derek startling him a little.
"Jesus, you scared me" he says.
"Sorry" I laugh softly.
"And yeah I have been growing up with younger kids forever my little cousins and one time a little girl's mom asked if I could take her on a carnival ride" he shrugs.
"Was the little girl cute?" I ask.
"Very she was about two or three her hair in white curls" he says.
"When was this?" I ask.
"When I was like fourteen" he says.
"How do you remember?" I ask.
"Never have met such a bipolar child" he shakes his head and I nod in understanding.
I laugh lay my head softy on his shoulder. "Meredith!" Someone yells we quickly jump apart and I look to see Kathleen I gesturing me over.
I pat his shoulder before walking away. Why would I pat his shoulder??
