The Moving

The date is 4/20/2016. You wake up to a crisp morning air and the sound of your dawgs barking to let them go outside. You eventually get yourself to roll out of bed and you stumble out to the door and let the dawgs out. "It feels nice out here" you say taking in a whiff of the spring air. You snap back to reality when you hear a knock at the front door.  You open the door to see your best friend! "Hey y/n. I was bored so I decided to come over... hope that's okay with you." You gesture inside as you continue catching up with Cornelia (your bsf). "My parents have a busy day today at work I guess... they said they won't be home until like 11! What am I supposed to doooooo" you say flopping on the couch. "My parents are never home so, be grateful for what you have!" she says snickering as she takes her place next to you on the couch. "So, what do you want to do today?" Cornelia says as she stands up to go to the kitchen. "I don't know, you're always the one to make our plans!" you say, following her to grab a snack. "I'm pretty hungry, we NEED to go get something to eat, or I'll die!" "Fine. Let's go to Olive Garden." You follow Cornelia to her car and hop in the passenger seat. "Can I have aux?" "Sure, here's the cord." *you play buddy holly at max volume* "WHATS WITH THESE HOMIEEEES DISSIN MY GIRL?????" *you reach Olive Garden and are sat at your table* "Hi! My name is Marilyn and I'll be your server today. Can I get you started off with any drinks?" "I'll have a raspberry lemonade please!" Cornelia says. "Can I also get a raspberry lemonade?" Cornelia is messing with the tablet at the front of the table and decides she is going to buy the games. You take turns playing trivia crack to pass the time. "Man these breadsticks are so dry! It feels like I'm eating the whole Sahara Desert right now." Cornelia exclaims cracking into laughter. "Hush! The waiter is coming back!" you say, trying to contain your laughter. "I figure you two have had plenty of time to look at the menu. What can I get for you two?" *Cornelia always orders first* "I'll have some chicken alfredo with a side salad please." "Can I please get spaghetti and meatballs? With minestrone soup!" you ask, slightly shaking in your boots. "Of course! I'll get that out here for you sweethearts." *You both continue playing trivia crack waiting for your food. after you finish eating you get back in the car and are on the way home* "I'm stuffed." you say. *As you are entering the door, Cornelia is already sitting on the couch looking for a movie to watch. *It's currently 4:00 pm* "I wonder why my parents are so busy today. Normally they would be home by now" you say sighing as you lay on the couch. "Not sure, more time for us to watch a movie in peace and quiet though!" You giggle, Cornelia never fails to lift your mood. "This movie looks pretty good. It's called level 16, lets give it a shot." You fall asleep 30 minutes into the movie, your never very good at staying awake anyways. Suddenly you jerk awake to Cornelias screams. You hurry and snap your neck to look at the screen to see the main characters face covered in blood. "Woah. What happened to her?" you question. "If you didn't fall asleep so easy you'd know dummy." Cornelia says, joking to you. "Psh, whatever." you say. "I should head home now. I've been here all day but I'll come back tomorrow." Cornelia leaves and you are sitting on the couch scrolling through TikTok when you decide to go shower. You grab the speaker and head upstairs and while waiting for the water to get hot you hit shuffle on your playlist. "I'm soooo boredddd" you exclaim to yourself in the mirror dragging your hands down your face. It's 7:30, but since you decide you have nothing better to do, you lay down for a nap. You wakeup again to your dawgs barking, you check your phone and it's 11:00. "Finally." You head downstairs to talk to your parents and they tell you to take a seat on the couch. The looks on their faces worry you... it doesn't look like anything is wrong but whatever they are about to say must not be too good. "Your mother and I have been thinking for the past couple of months and we finally made our decision 2 weeks ago. We are going to be moving in 1 and a half weeks." Your dad says letting out a strong exhale. "WHAT?! We can't move! I've lived in this house my whole life and we've made so many great memories here! And what about Cornelia?!" *wait... what about Cornelia. Holy crap! You are going to be moving away from your best friend of your entire life* You start sobbing uncontrollably. "I need some time to think about this, I'll talk to you tomorrow. Goodnight." you say, with tears still coming out of your eyes. "I can't believe this.. we're really moving."
