I set the dupatta over my shoulder as I looked in the mirror

I set the dupatta over my shoulder as I looked in the mirror. I was wearing a long-full-sleeved white sharara kurti and peach palazzos.

Mom told me we were going to my future in law's house for the first time, so I had to wear something traditional.

I wore a chain around my neck and jhumkas on my ears while my mind wandered.

Future In law's - Marriage - Aditya!

I couldn't forget what happened between us yesterday in the car.

We kissed.

Every time I closed my eyes, I could still feel his lips against mine, and the electricity that ran through my body. I'm not sure if I'll ever forget that moment.

The most important thing was that he asked for my consent and that made me happy. He also told me he couldn't resist anymore.

What did that mean?

Does he like me too? Because I do.

I like Aditya not because I am marrying him, but because he treats me well. He makes me happy. He lets me be myself. He wants to understand me.

All these things were not there in the man in my past. He never asked my permission for anything, not even before kissing me. He never tried to know me, he wanted to change me. He did not make me happy. He physically and mentally destroyed me. God knows how I fell for him. The biggest mistake of my life, but also something from which I learned.

I wouldn't repeat those mistakes again. After knowing Aditya for two weeks, I was certain I wasn't repeating my mistake.

As Isha di said, I should take steps in this relationship if he does, that's how it works. I can't hold onto my past and let it affect my future.

I smiled after talking to myself while looking in the mirror. Sometimes you need conversations with yourself to know what your mind and heart say.

*achoo*

Oh. I forgot I caught cold. Blame Aditya for making me eat ice cream in this cold weather and upon that it rained yesterday.

"Anisha di?" I heard Ayaan call as he came into my room and my eyes widened.

Did he just add 'di' to my name? Am I dreaming??

"What did you say? Repeat please?" I asked him and he rolled his eyes.

"Diii..." He dragged dramatically. (Di: An endearing used by the younger sibling while addressing their elder sister)

"Wow... how nice it is to hear these golden words from your mouth," I said.

"I was just practicing it. If I call you by your name in your future in-laws house, my respect will decrease a bit, won't it?" He said and I narrowed my eyes at him.
