It's mid term break for the students so they have a week's break. Nari doesn't know what she wants to do to pass time, her life is getting boring by the days go by. She's thinking of just studying cause she has nothing to do, plus, she needs to do well so she get into an ivy league college. She has her eyes on Harvard in Boston, USA.
Nari sits infront of her study table and plugs in her ear pods so she can listen to music while studying, it's easier to concentrate that way. The first thing she wants to study is Math. That has always been her weak spot, ever since she started school.
As she's about to start she gets a phone call, her mom. Sighing she answers while skipping through her book. "What is it mom?"
"You're father is inviting you to have lunch with us. Are you willing to join?"
Nari stays silent for a minute contemplating whether to go or not. Obviously her brothers are going to be there and it's clear that they don't like her. Her mother is really oblivious for not noticing.
"Sure, why not? Give me half a hour to get ready." She throws away the thought of studying. She hangs up the phone and starts to search for something to wear. In the end she chooses a pair of skinny jeans and a spaghetti strap black blouse. Grabbing her belongings she leaves the house.
Since she doesn't have a vehicle for herself, she just takes a cab. It took about half a hour before she reaches her destination. Since she's a little familiar with the place, she enters without knocking.
She comes across a maid and asks where the others are, she finds out they're on the back porch waiting for her. She greets them with a good afternoon. Her brothers didn't even spare her a glance.
Sighing, she takes a seat beside her mother. "How are planning to spend your break sweetie?"
"I don't know, probably just continue to study." She takes a grape and eat it.
"Try to have some fun, hang out with the boys. You're always in your book, enjoy yourself." Her mother gives her a little nudge.
"Meh." Nari shrugs and glance at her brothers, they look so cold and as if they don't want to be here.
"How about you guys?" She wants to start a conversation with them so she asks a simple question.
"None of your business." The oldest one replies nonchalantly.
"Seokjin, be nice." Young-Ki sternly tell his son.
The boy only rolls his eyes in response and continues to eat. Nari has had enough of them acting like this towards her. She pushes her seat and stands up abruptly and aggressively. Everyone snaps their head towards her.
"What is wrong with you four? You keep behaving cold and distant with me, can't you see that I am trying to warm up to you guys and build a relationship? Get your heads out of your asses." She pants running out of breath.
"Nari!" Her mother calls out to her, astonished at the words her daughter is saying.
"Why do you hate me so much?" Her face softens with sadness and confusion.
"We don't want a sister." Hoseok stares at her emotionlessly.
Those words hurt Nari so bad, if you cut her you don't see any blood. "Oh ok. That's how it is. I'll take my leave, thanks for the lunch Mr. Min."
"Nari, don't go." Her mother calls out to her but she doesn't look back.
