Hawkins had been one of the safest towns known to the people of Indiana. Joyce had been born and raised and throughout her whole life it had been quite peaceful. That was until she stumbled upon Lonnie Byers.

Lonnie Byers was a awful man and no one could ever put there finger on why such a wonderful women like Joyce had ended up with him. Tho there love hadn't lasted long, once they had welcomed their first child into the world in 67' which just so happened to be when their marriage began to deteriorate.

Jonathan Byers was their first born child. The golden child. He was Joyce's everything, well up until a year later when Joyce had gotten pregnant again.

When Layla was born Joyce was more then overwhelmed with joy, Lonnie couldn't care less. Layla Byers was one of the main reasons Joyce and Lonnies relationship had gotten worse she was always a problem, rather she was screaming or crying, or always being hungry. Well quite frankly it made Lonnie furious.

Joyce was a outstanding mother, she was a natural, ever since Jonathan was born. Joyce had been one to always say it was an amazing experience, and the best thing that could happen to someone. Some years later Will Byers had entered the world and to become the youngest of the Byer siblings.

Tho they all had the same mom, and dad. They were all very different in little ways. Jonathan had always had a love for photography and music he had been the quietist of the three. Everyone known him as the freak or the weird kid. Though his family loved him for who he was.

Will was soft-spoken, artsy and most of all honest, he also is extremely smart for his age, he was the top in all his classes and had even taken apart in the schools AV club. Will had been an amazing artist and had some of the best drawings and works some have seen. However his social status at school wasn't high due to everything he was into which led to Will being bullied.

And then, there was Layla one of the most outgoing and loud personality someone could ever imagine. She was one to live in the moment and do some of the most outrageous things. Layla was quite popular and though she didn't have the money she pulled off what she had to fit in with everyone else. But in her own special way. The school had been drawn to her the second she stepped foot on campus.

Though she had lots of "friend's" a friend to her could be someone she talked to in the hall one time and never again. She had mostly stuck with her childhood friend Robin Buckley. They were similar in many ways and got along better then anyone in the school. They just got each other.

But things had taken a turn for the worst. The Byers had become known to be the most screwed up family in all of Hawkins. Layla pasted on a smile at school but behind that smile and her at home life was complicated. It was quite a secret that Lonnie was an addict.

Lonnie had become an antagonist towards Will belivijg him to be small, and weak. Belittling him as a person. And the day the divorce had went through was the day the siblings lives had changed, for the better. Even though they had become even more poor then what they already had been.

But what happens when all of a sudden her youngest brother goes missing, flipping their worlds ︀︀︀︀︀︀︀︀︀︀︀︀︀︀︀︀u︎ʍ︎o︎p︎ ǝp︎ı̣s︎d︎n︎. And she falls into some trap of the most popular guy on campus, Steve Harrington.
