"JESSICA COME DOWN FOR BREAKFAST OR YOU WILL MISS THE SCHOOL BUS!!" Mom got very nervous on the first day of school, it's like she almost hated the idea of being late more than me. I packed all of my stuff into my new gold backpack, took a five from the lunch money jar in my room, and went to go do my hair. Today I was wearing jeans, a cream colored top that had big waves on it, and a matching cream colored leather jacket. I threw on some sandals, brushed out my hair, put a headband in and went downstairs for breakfast.
"Hi Jess!" Mom said handing me an asiago cheese bagel on a plate.
"Yay! Cheese bagels!" I said eating my bagel.
"I'm gonna go brush my teeth," I said as soon as I had finished the bagel.
"Hurry!" Mom said looking out the window for the bus, even though it was scheduled to come in five minutes. I ran upstairs and brushed my teeth, practiced an award winning smile and ran downstairs to catch the bus.
Me👑: Hey Guys! The bus is almost at my house now!
Chloe🌺: I'm riding already, sitting next to Caroline
Caroline🌸: AKA BEST BUS BUDDY EVER!!!!🎉🎉🎉
Avery🌼: Liv and I just got on!
Sydney🍒: Still waiting....
Olivia🍄: Hey that's my name! Wooh! SCHOOL! Lol no....
Me👑: OMG I can see the bus and ur little faces in the windows! Is Sydney in the bus yet?
Caroline🌸: Nope she is the last stop between the eight of us.
Sydney🍒: Yay! The bus is here!
"Sydney over here!" I said waving to her as she got on the bus. Avery and Olivia were in front of us, Caroline and Chloe next to us, and Lara and Claire diagonal to us. "Yay! I'm so happy we're all going to the same school! And the backpacks look great. Good job Olivia!" Olivia smiled and laughed while sarcastically flipping her hair.
"Noooooooooooo." Lara said as we pulled up to the school.
"What Lara?" Claire asked laughing.
"I don't like school!" Lara said stomping her feet on the bus floor.
"Too bad! But on the bright side you get to hang out with me and Olivia all day!" Claire said.
"Yay we're here!" Chloe said jumping up. I stayed in my seat for a second which caused me to face the wrath of Avery.
"Get off your butt, Jess!" Avery said pulling me up. Or trying to at least, I did most of the work.
"Let's skip!" Sydney said linking arms with me and trying to drag me along on her skipping journey. Soon all eight of us were skipping to the front building.
"Ok, guys. We have to meet at lunch. The fifth and sixth grade classrooms are the closest so you guys have to get a table for us. The good thing is, each table seats eight. It's perfect!" Sydney said.
"Remember not to text on the group so nobody gets in trouble for texting. See you guys at lunch! Good luck!" I said giving Avery, Claire, Olivia, and Lara hugs. "See you guys at lunch." I said to them as they went over to get their schedules.
"Ok so how exactly does this system work?" Chloe asked as we looked for sixth grade table.
"Well, you travel with your home room all day, and have the same classes, except for languages and math. So as long as we are all in the same home room it's fine!" Caroline said walking up to the table and presenting her name. As soon as the four of us compared schedules.
