"Ahh!" I winced as my hand touched the hot pan handle for my ramen.
"This is why we can't have nice things, Jessica." Daniel scoffed sarcastically as he walked into the kitchen.
"I just forgot to put my oven mitt on." I said swatting him with said oven mitt.
"Stop it!" He said whacking me upside the head.
"Your so difficult." I said shoving him."
"Yeah. I know. I'm going for a run. Bye." He said all at once as he walked out the door.
"So weird!" I said to myself in a sing-song/alien voice pouring my ramen into a bowl.
"Who is so weird?" My mom asked walking into the kitchen with her work bags, as I
"Daniel." I said taking a sip.
"Why?" Mom asked.
"I don't know, he just is. I mean he is related to us." I said gesturing to the two of us.
"That's true. I'm headed to a meeting, remember to make plans with your friends for the dance this Friday!" Mom said closing the door behind her. As soon as she left I pulled out my phone.
Me👑: Anybody have plans for the dance this Friday?
Sydney🍒: I was gonna ask you guys to do something!
Claire🐱: We can get ready before and sleepover after!
Lara🍭: Sounds good👍
Caroline🌸: Luv it!

Lara🍭: My mom and I already planned to go on Wednesday! Sorry guys!
Chloe🌺: My grandma bought me a new dress from New York when she visited last week so I am gonna wear that one!
Me👑: Ooh fancy! So Claire, Sydney, and Caroline are free for dress shopping?
Sydney🍒: Yep.
Me👑: Cool, we can figure something out soon. Maybe Tuesday.

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.
My alarm clock when off, seeming to be louder then usual at the normal bright and early time of 6:30. School yay! One of the hardest things to do is go to school after a swim meet weekend, it's torture. You practically scrub the hairs off of your arms and legs trying to get the ink off that your friends drew on you all weekend. Then you smell like chlorine no matter how many showers you take.
Monday went by in a flash, until science when something memorable happened.
"Ok class today we will be looking at things under the microscopes as you know so I have a pile of dead insects on every desk and your job is too identify and name each insect." Mr. Swan said picking up a plastic bag with what looked like a a dragonfly in it. "You can start." Mr. Swan said walking over to a student to answer a question.
Everything was going well and Sam and I were working together perfectly until he decided to bring up the dance.
"Do you know if Caroline is going to the dance?" Sam asked as he recorded his observations on an insect.
"Yeah, she is going" I said peeking into the microscope.
"Oh, because I am going to ask her to the dance after class, do you think it's a good idea?" Sam asked, I had never seen him this nervous.
Caroline hates Sam, of course she will say no! Part of me wanted to tell him to spare himself the e,harass,eat and the other part of me wanted to see him crash and burn.
"Yeah, you should ask her." I said recording my results.

"Oh my god. Sam just asked me to the dance!" Caroline said storming over to ur table and sitting down.
"You said no right?" Avery asked.
"Heck yea, I'm not going to the dance with the guy who called Jess an idiot!" She said opening her lunch box.
"Good choice." I added
"I agree 100%, the guy is a jerk." Chloe said opening a bag of pretzels.
"I am so excited to get my dress today." Olivia said.
"Me too. My mom said we could go to the mall!" Avery added.
"Make sure you send pictures!" Sydney said taking a bite of her sandwich.
"Hey guys! What did I miss?" Claire asked coming over to our table with a lunch tray.
"Sam -the guy who thinks I am stupid- asked Caroline to the dance, she said no, and Avery and Olivia are going to send us pictures of the dresses they are getting at the mall tonight. So, not much!" I said all at once.
"Just a normal day at STEM!" Claire said laughing.
"Seems like it."

"Try this one, oh and this one, ooh! And this one, oh and of course the blue one." I said piling at least six dresses into Caroline's arms. "Have fun!" I said as Caroline waked into the dressing room at Macy's.
"Jess!" Sydney yelled beckoning me over to where her and Claire were standing holding two dresses.
"I love both and so does Sydney." Which one looks better on me and which one on Sydney?" Claire asked me holding the dresses up to her bodice one by one.
"Try them on first." I said handing Claire one dress and Sydney the other.
While the other girls tried on their dresses I went over to the cart and looked at my dress again. It was a flower print that rested a few inches above my knee, short, but not too short. And the top had a v-neck perfect for showing off the necklace my mom bought me of a heart shaped key with 'Jessica' carved on it.
"What do you think?" Caroline said as she came out of e dressing room in a white lace, scoop neck, short sleeved dress.
"I love it." I said giving my thumbs up of approval.
"Great, I tried the other ones on and I'm definitely getting this one." Caroline said going back into the dressing room to change.
A few minutes passed and Caroline came out of the dressing room and put her dress in the cart.
"Do you like it?" Sydney asked coming out of the dressing room,she was wearing the blue and white striped shapeless dress.
"Love. It." Caroline said.
"Me too!" I said "is Claire done?"
"Yep. Claire said coming out of the dressing room in the black and white patterned dress with reds the the bottom.
"You look really pretty in that." I said
"Okay I'm so glad you guys like it, I am gonna get it!" Claire said going back to change as Sydney did the same.
"Looks like we got ourselves some dresses!" I said texting my mom to come pick us up.
Helloooo! I know this chapter is like a week and a half late but I have actually been really busy this summer I barely have time to crank out a paragraph. My friends (shrubs) are my testimony that I am very busy because I only got to hang out with 1/6 so far! Ahhh! So I'm very happy I finally finished this!! I hope you liked it. Also, all of the dresses pictured were from the clothing website zulily and these are all 'Women's dresses'. I made the chapter extra long for it being super late because I love you all!!💋💋
