❄️Chapter 1: New Student❄️

Winter's POV.
Date: Summer, 5,012 AS (After Scorching)

Winter hated listening to Webs drone on and on for hours about the same history everyday.
A paper ball hit his head, and he looked up. Qibli waved to him, probably meaning he was bored as well.
"What?" Winter asked him.
Qibli pointed to Webs saying, "Listen, it's about Darkstalker, finally."
"Don't we know basically everything about him already? I mean, we're the ones who stopped him and fought his brain dead minions." Winter said flatly.
"I know, but it's not about the Scorching-"
"Qibli, Winter, why are you talking in my class?" Webs scolded.
Winter was about to speak, but Qibli was already talking.
"Sorry sir, I was just asking Winter if he brought our homework, because I forgot to." Qibli explained.
"Hm. I'll let it slide. Just bring in the homework once class is over." Said Webs, monotone.
Qibli looked at Winter and winked at him. Winter rolled his eyes in annoyance.
30 Minutes later.
"Class dismissed."
Winter immediately woke up right before Qibli tapped his shoulder.
"Come on, that was our last class for the day," Qibli said.
Winter nodded, and got up to go to his and Qibli's sleeping cave.
A few silent moments went by until Qibli started a conversation.
"So, what did your family say to you when you rescued Hailstorm and brought him back?" Qibli asked.
Winter winced, but he continued anyway.
"They thanked me, but my father basically said he hoped I wouldn't come back ever after I went to Jade Mountain. They put me at number one in the first circle, but Hailstorm in the seventh circle, which is the lowest. We have this tradition where if a dragon in the seventh circle is about to turn seven years old, they can challenge the number one dragon in the first circle. It's called the 'Diamond Trial.' Lucky for me, I was the first one. Turns out, my parents were planning for Hailstorm to kill me. But, me and Hailstorm figured he can leave and I would wait until dawn to escape. That's when I went back to you guys." Winter finished, uncomfortable.
   Qibli looked disturbed and surprised at the same time.
  "Yep," said Winter. He went back to finishing his math homework.
1 hour later
  Winter was walking to his math teacher's classroom while looking down at his homework, double-checking it. Thank the moons Qibli turned in both of our history homework-
Bump.
  "Ow." Said a voice.
Winter looked up to see who he bumped into.
   Lynx?
  "Lynx?" He asked, echoing his thoughts.
The pastel blue IceWing with dark blue freckles  was rubbing her temples.
  "Oh, hi Winter!" Lynx said, "In case you're wondering, since you went back to the academy, Snowfall decided that I should replace Icicle's spot." She explained before Winter could even ask. (Which he was going to.)
  "Oh okay. How was your mission to Pantala?" Winter asked.
  "It was pretty scary at first. Moon, Qibli, Tsunami, and the RainWing named Pineapple got captured before we even got to the actual continent. I'll definitely tell you more when we both don't have to turn in homework." She said, picking up her history homework.
  "Bye Winter!" She called, going to the history cave.
  "Bye!" He yelled to her, she was already far ahead.
He was still puzzled on the whole his-friends-getting-captured thing, but he'll ask Qibli about it. When he thought about Moon getting captured, his heart sped up.
Okay fine, his heart speeds up when he thinks about her in general.
He turned in his math homework and went back to his cave.
He sighed as he sat on his ledge that had a few fur rugs on it, which was his bed. Qibli walked in a few moments later.
  "Hey, Winter? Who's that new IceWing? If you know her." Qibli asked.
  "Oh, that's Lynx. She's really nice. I used to train with her in the Ice Kingdom. Queen Snowfall sent her here to replace Icicle's spot." Winter explained.
  "Ohhhh well that explains it. Anyway, goodnight Winter. Tomorrow we don't have any school. We get a two day break after five days of school. Goodnight." Qibli said plopping down on his ledge, which was also covered in animal fur.
