Chapter 16: Royal Rescue

Alberto and Amber got back to Masssimo's house. Alberto carried a sleeping Amber bridle style back to his room. Just then, Jake knocked on the door. "Sorry to bother you Alberto, is it okay if I chat with you for a minute? Something's been on my mind and I need to get it off my chest," Jake told him. Alberto nodded and followed Jake, leaving Amber sleeping on Alberto's bed. Jake brought Alberto outside and onto Bucky. Once Alberto got there, Jake was no where to be seen. "Jake, hello! Come on, don't play games with me now," Alberto chuckled nervously. Jake waited up high for the perfect aim. As Jake swang from his rope, Alberto noticed Jake swinging by him and ducked. Alberto ran as fast as he could, but Jake stopped in front of him. He saw a harpoon in Jake's hand. "You...traitor! I trusted you!" Alberto said. Jake had tears in his eyes. "I'm sorry, but it's for my own good!" Jake huffed throwing the harpoon at Alberto until Santiago blocked it with his sword. James also ran up and blocked Alberto from Jake. "Jake! What are you doing?! Alberto's our friend!" James cried out.
Meanwhile, Sofia walked over to check on Amber to see how she was doing. Sofia knocked on the bedroom door but she and Alberto weren't there. Just then she heard Machiavelli meow. "Your highness! Your highness!" Machiavelli said out of breath. "Machiavelli, what's wrong? Where's Amber?" Sofia asked the fat cat. Suddenly, they heard Amber screaming for help. "Follow me! I can take you to her!" Machiavelli said as Sofia followed him. Sofia followed Machiavelli and then got knocked on the ground. "Hello princess," said a man and he took Sofia as well. Machiavelli heard more screaming and didn't see Sofia or Amber. He had to warn the boys since Massimo was asleep and didn't get bothered by the noise. He saw what looked like Sofia's tiara on the ground and carried it over to Bucky.

Machiavelli arrived at Bucky, meowing at Jake. Apparently Machiavelli was unaware about the situation before the kidnapping. "Meow meow!" Machiavelli pawed at Jake. When Jake saw Machiavelli carrying a tiara, he knew something was wrong. "Guys!" Jake called out as the boys were chatting with each other. The boys turned and looked at Jake. "Jake! How could you?!" James shouted. Just then he noticed something in Jake's hand. "It's Sofia's tiara!" Santiago said. James grew furious. "Where is my sister?! Where did you get that?!" he yelled at Jake. Just then the boys heard screaming. As they looked out off of Bucky, they saw Ercole riding in his speedboat with Sofia and Amber tied up together with blindfolds over their mouths. "That man has them! We gotta save them!" James said. Alberto looked closer. "Ercole. That snitch is at it again!" Alberto said, thinking about Amber. "They're heading to your tower Alberto!" James mentioned. Alberto had an idea. "Santi, tell Bucky to follow me! I know where he's going," Alberto said. "Right! James help me out!" Santi said. Alberto jumped in the water and Jake looked on. What have I done? Jake thought. He felt terrible but no one wanted to talk to him after what he did. So he decided to go rescue Sofia alone. Jake took a motorized boat and started heading toward Alberto's tower.

Meanwhile at the tower, Sofia and Amber were still tied up. "You're not going to get away with this!" Amber shouted. "Alberto will save us!" she said. "You mean your boyfriend?! Why go out with a smelly salmon like him while you can go out with a handsome man like me? Marry me and I will show you the world like never before!" Ercole told Amber while Amber spat in his face. "Knock it off!" Sofia said. "I forgot about the princess who's in love with a pirate. I'll get what I deserve when I steal all the dabloon thingys from him! Then I will be the richest man in the world!" Ercole cackled. Just then, Sofia and Amber heard a crashing noise. "Ah, perfect timing. You and I will have a nice sea monster in our little collection," Ercole grinned at Amber. "Alberto..."Amber said.

Jake finally got to the tower and climbed up. Once Ercole left to check on the noise, Jake got to the inside of the tower and saw Sofia with Amber. "Jake!" Sofia said happily. Jake shushed her. "I'm here to rescue you guys," he said as he untied the girls. Sofia gave her boyfriend a hug. "You're the best Jake," Sofia kissed his cheek. Amber heard footsteps coming back up. "We have to hurry! Ercole's coming back!" she said. "You guys head down the ladder. I'll deal with this poser!" Jake said as the girls went down the ladder. He got out his sword, ready for action. "YOU?!" Ercole said. "Yeah it's me! By the way, thanks for lying to me!" Jake said upset. Ercole realized Sofia and Amber were gone. Just then, Ercole saw Bucky, Santiago, James, and Alberto show up. "You're too late! That sea monster will be mine!" Ercole said running off as Jake pursued him.

Amber went up and ran to give Amber a big hug. "I'm so glad your okay. I was worried about you," Alberto said. As Amber and Alberto were about to kiss, Santiago got his sword out. Alberto saw Ercole with a harpoon. Jake appeared and ran to Sofia's side to protect her. Ercole was shocked. "Only five of us and one of you!" Jake called out to Ercole. "Who's the traitor now?!" Jake smirked at Ercole. Ercole grew furious. "You brats think you can get away from me that easy?!" Ercole hollered. "Attack!" Jake called out to his friends. James, Santiago, and Jake were attacking Ercole but Ercole slipped right past them and got to Amber. He held her wrist tightly. "You're not going anywhere!" Alberto then headbutted Ercole in the side and grabbed Amber from him. "You okay?" Alberto asked her. "I'm fine," Amber smiled. "Look out!" Amber said. It was too late. Alberto was struck with the harpoon."NO!" Amber cried out. James and Santiago held Ercole back after he struck Alberto. "Haha! Now you'll never see your beloved boyfriend again! He's history!" Ercole called out. Sofia went to comfort Amber but as Ercole was blabbering on, Alberto stood up and took the harpoon out from under his armpit. He was faking his own death. Amber saw this and gasped happily. "Miss me princess?" Alberto asked her as Amber filled with happy tears. Ercole saw Alberto and pushed the boys away. He grew enraged. Just then Alberto pinned him down with the harpoon. "You tricked me! This was supposed to be my happily ever after!" Ercole said. "Well I guess you better keep looking," Alberto said. Machiavelli then saw Ercole and hissed at him. Ercole grew nervous. "Nice kitty pretty kitty," Ercole told him. "Pretty?! I'll show you!" Machiavelli said and started scratching Ercole. James and Santiago tied Ercole up and threw him in the water. "Wait wait wait, don't do this! Come on I'm a nice guy! I will do anything! Anything!" Ercole cried out. "Sorry you're on your own," Alberto said. Just then a shark came by and saw Ercole. Ercole screamed and the shark started chasing him. "You'll never see the last of me!!!" Ercole hollered and he disappeared on a speedboat. (Yes Ercole did untie himself, got on a speedboat, and went to somewhere in the Tooniverse.) Alberto saw the shark walk up to him and Alberto gave the shark a coin. "Thanks Kenny," Alberto told the shark. "Just trying to help!" Kenny said. Kenny's watch started dinging. "Oh! Meal time! Catch ya later Al!" Kenny said as he swam off. Alberto waved goodbye. "Friend of yours?" Amber teased. "I'm friends with everyone in the Toon ocean," Alberto said. Amber smiled. The group started talking except Jake. Jake cleared his throat and everyone looked at him. "I...uh...wanted to apologize," Jake said. "I'm really sorry, guys. Ercole tricked me and I should have known. Alberto, I'm sorry, especially to you. I screwed up big time," Jake said as Alberto walked over and put a hand on Jake's shoulder. "No need to apologize. I understand that pirates and sea monsters don't get along and are completely different but you saved my girlfriend's life and that's all that matters. Thanks dude," Alberto said holding out his hand for Jake to shake it. Jake smiled and shook Alberto's hand. The sun started to rise. "Bucky, take us back to Portorosso," Jake called out to his ship as Bucky dinged it's bell. "All aboard everyone!" Santiago called out. Everyone climbed on board and headed back to Portorosso.
