-Ikemoto-
After looking at myself in the mirror, I started walking into the kitchen. I saw Mom making breakfast. "Good morning, Ikemoto," she said when she saw me.
"G'morning, Mom," I mumbled and sat at the table. Mom put a plate of food in front of me, and I started to eat. I saw Izuku sit next to me and he started to eat too.
I got finished and put my plate in the sink before I went to go get my bag. I started walking to the front door, and I saw Izuku walk out of his room.
"Izuku, Ikemoto, do you have everything?" Mom asked, worriedly.
"Yeah." We said at the same time.
"Ikemoto, did you pack enough tissues for Izuku?"
"Yeah," I said again, as I started to walk out. Mom said a few more things to Izuku which made him smile. It was good to see him smile; I hadn't seen that since we'd gotten into UA.
The bullying had gotten worse since then. Bakugo and his lackeys started waiting for every moment I was distracted to harass Izuku in various different ways.
After taking the train and we were in the hallways of UA, Izuku started to run. Why on earth does he have to have so much energy? I just continued walking and trying to find our classroom, hoping with all my heart that Izuku wouldn't get lost. I finally found that classroom. I was about to enter, but a hobo-looking man was blocking my way. "Could you move?" I asked, impatiently. Izuku was probably already inside.
The man turned around. "I will when you show some respect," he said.
"Then I guess we're about to be here for a while."
"Whatever," he mumbled and started walking inside. I had a distinct feeling that he and I weren't going to get along.
I took my seat at the back of the room, in between the brown haired girl who had talked to me at the exam and a white haired boy. When the boy turned to look at me, I saw that his hair was actually half white, half red. Why do so many people in this room have such weird hair?
I noticed a purple haired girl sitting near the front of the room. Jiro? I found it a major coincidence that she was at UA, not to mention the same class as me.
"Alright, class," the hobo man sighed. "Put these on and meet me outside," he mumbled, pulling some gym uniforms out of a sleeping bag.
After we had changed and met outside in an empty field, a spiky redhead came up to me. "Hey, remember me?"
I looked him up and down, and said, "Uh, who are you?"
His jaw dropped. "It's me! We met? At the entrance exam?" he prompted.
I squinted and looked at his face closer. There was a small scar above his eye. "You? I thought your hair was-"
He quickly covered my mouth with his hand. "Shhhh. I don't want anyone finding out about that right now."
"Excuse me! Midoriya and Kirishima!" the teacher yelled at us. "Do you have something to share with the class?" he demanded.
I just tsked and shut up. The teacher (who Izuku told me was named Mr. Aizawa) went on to explain what we were doing. Something about a quirk test.
"Midoriya!" the teacher yelled.
"Yes sir?" Izuku asked.
"Oh sorry, I meant the other one," Aizawa said.
"Yo," I drawled.
"You scored the highest on the standard entrance exam. How far could you throw a softball in middle school?"
"A stack of metres."
"Excuse me?" he said, confused. Some of the kids around me chuckled.
"Sixty-four metres," I clarified.
Aizawa just sighed and passed me the ball. "Try doing it with your quirk."
I walked to the circle, I activated my quirk and took all the heat from the area around me so ice will start to form. I used some fire to shape the ice into a bat. I waved off the fire and picked up the bat. I threw up the ball and hit it as hard as I could with the bat whilst heating up the air below the ball to give it some propulsion. I felt air push back my jet-black hair.
My 'bat' broke due to the impact, and I glanced back over at Aizawa, who held up a device that read 738m. I blinked. I should play baseball. I released the extra heat in my body and melted any ice that was surrounding the area before walking back to the others.
Everyone started talking excitedly about my score. "Woah, seven hundred and thirty-eight metres?!" the pikachu boy exclaimed. "Are you kidding me?"
"I wanna go!" the pink girl said. "That looks like fun!"
"So this looks fun, huh?" Aizawa said irritably. "You have three years here to become a hero. You think it's all going to be games and playtime?! Idiots," the teacher growled, a sadistic smile creeping across his face. "Today you'll compete in eight physical tests to gauge your potential. Whoever comes in last has none, and will be expelled immediately," the teacher said, smirking. Who does he think he is? He would expel... Izuku. I looked at the top of my big brother's head as he shook and started quietly mumbling to himself. "Your fates are in our hands. Welcome. This is the hero course at U.A." I felt my eye twitch in annoyance. I walked with everyone to the first event. If I had to throw my rounds to protect Izuku, then so be it.
I refused to use my quirk.
All the same, I still scored higher than most people, not to mention the amazing ball throwing score from earlier. Izuku wasn't so fortunate.
He didn't use his quirk either, and come to think of it, I'd hadn't ever seen him use it. Maybe it was because he broke his bones whenever he did.
Then the ball toss came.
I saw my brother walk to the circle and grip the ball tightly. He threw it and it went rocketing into the sky. I felt my eyes widen. I glanced at the score. 705.3 metres. "That's more than Bakugo's," I mumbled to myself.
Bakugo started to run towards Izuku, enraged and hands crackling. Before the teacher could do anything, I tackled him. "Leave my brother alone!" I screamed, punching Bakugo in the face.
I felt something wrap around my body and pull me off of my brother's bully. "That's enough, Midoriya," Aizawa ordered. I seethed but listened to the teacher.
I glanced at my brother and saw that his finger was broken. "Nii-san are you okay?" I gasped, running over to him.
"Y-yeah. Just focus on yourself, Ike-kun," he requested.
I saw everyone starting to walk, and I just followed in the back. I was glancing at the floor, sadly thinking about how Izuku had just told me off.I stood next to Kirishima, who was near the back of the group. "What are we doing?" I asked.
He glanced over. "We're getting our results. Boy I hope I'm not the one going home."
I nodded and saw a hologram pop up, and I scanned the list. I'd managed to score twelfth even without my quirk. I kept reading down the list and stopped at the name of the last place person.
Izuku Midoriya.
"By the way, that expulsion thing was a lie. It was just a logical deception to make you all did your best!" he said, grinning.
"YOU JERK!! DO YOU REALISE HOW BADLY YOU JUS-"
Izuku put his hand on my shoulder, begging me to stay quiet. I sighed and followed him as he left for the nurse's office.
High school was going to be a very long three years.
