-Ikemoto-

Kaminari decided to join Monoma and the other non-qualifiers in the side games while Todoroki and I decided to just hang out and chill for a bit. "So your dad's going to be running some type of alternative training camp, huh?" I said to make conversation.

The two of us were chilling in the 1-A portion of the stands, enjoying the quiet emptiness as it was just the two of us.

"Yeah, he does it every year for the most promising first years. He has this really complicated formula for how he chooses the attendees. Honestly, if he forced me to learn it, I'd be braindead by the time I understood it."

I smirked. "So do you have an automatic ticket in or something?"

Todoroki rubbed the bottom of his scar in thought. "Well, I've observed it every year since I was middle school age as an onlooker. It's more likely that Father would make me a filler if his top candidates don't pass the finals."

I took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "Do you think your Father will choose me for his fight camp?"

"I think so, yeah. Kaminari would probably be on his list too. Kirishima too, maybe."

I blinked. Todoroki hadn't mentioned Bakugo once, and this was a new thing to me. "Not Bakugo?"

Todoroki let out a short, sarcastic laugh. "As if. If Bakugo doesn't get himself under control, his pro hero popularity ratings are going to be in the sewers."

When the side games concluded, the rest of our class entered the stands, bar Izuku, who was now standing in a fighting ring made of cement. Todoroki stood up and left the stands and I got up and trailed after him. "Where are you going?" I asked.

"I'm trying to find a better place to watch the games," he said. Once he found a spot he liked, the two of us leaned against the wall as Present Mic called for the match to begin.

The indigo haired kid said something to Izuku, and suddenly my older brother started to walk out of bounds. "Nii-san?"

I looked to my right at Todoroki, who was rubbing the bottom of his scar in thought. "I think Midoriya's opponent has some sort of mind control quirk. I wonder why he isn't in the hero course if it's powerful enough even to convince someone to do the exact opposite of what they want to do. It's such a rare and valuable powerset."

"The hero course practical was a robot fight," I explained, still nervously watching as Izuku neared the boundary.
Suddenly, I heard a loud sound, and a small amount of air pressure swept into the air. When the dust cleared, I could see from the projection screens that Izuku had broken his fingers. "I thought I told him not to break any more bones," I groaned, but my relief was strong. Izuku hadn't lost yet.

I watched as Izuku ran and started to push Shinso towards the other boundary. Shinso tried to turn the tables, but Izuku flipped him over his shoulder and slammed him out of bounds. "Shinso is out of bounds! Midoriya proceeds to the next round," Midnight announced.

Todoroki headed off to go to the centre ring, and I went to Recovery Girl's temporary office to check on Izuku. He left the office just as I got there, and I yelled, "Are you stupid or something?! I told you not to break any more bones!"

Izuku's eyes were wide as he stuttered, "I- I didn't do it, Ike-kun."

I grabbed his hand and pointed at his bandaged fingers. "Then explain this."

"My quirk activated on its own, okay? I was going to ask All Might about i-"

Izuku was cut off by the building rumbling. "Was that Todoroki?" I wondered aloud as I rushed back to the stands, Izuku close behind me. When the two of us got out there, we saw that Todoroki had encapsulated almost half the stadium in an ice spike.
