My name is Ezra Banks.
I am part of a detective agency however a party is currently being held in my workplace.
"Why?", you might ask?
It is because today, five years ago, The Inbestigators detective agency was created.
The four founding members of the agency, me, Ava, Kyle and Maudie, were all unique individuals with their own skillsets.
Ezra Banks (Me), sixteen years old, manager of the detective agency.
I am in charge of all business and technology related activities.
I handle and manage everything to keep the agency running.
Ava Andrikides, sixteen years old, expert social advisor.
Ava is the heart of our agency because she is optimistic and kind.
Her leadership skills and social expertise can help us when large groups of people are involved.
Kyle Klimson, fifteen years old, sports specialist with excellent athletic abilities.
He has superior hand eye coordination, manual dexterity and various sports knowledge.
He is easily distracted and forgetful, but his powerful drive is something to be proud of.
And last, but not least.
Maudie Miller, fifteen years old, the lead detective of the Inbestigators agency.
She has an eye for details and a knack for solving problems.
Maudie is a very talented detective, and without her the Inbestigators would not exist.
As I describe each of my friends in my head, someone in the real world called out to me.
Maudie: Hey Ezra. Having fun? -she said with a raised voice because of the music
Me: Yeah, but the music is making it hard to talk.
DJ Kboom Klimson (Kyle): What's up everybody?! Is everyone having fun?! -his voice amplified
Me: Do you want to go outside? This place is way too noisy.
Maudie: Sure.
The two of us escaped the noisy party and sat down on a bench outside.
Me: This feels much better. The soundproofing is much better than I thought.
Maudie: You can still hear the music though.
I stare at the door with the name of our agency.
Me: To think it's been five years since we first met in that classroom. I still remember the day you interrupted me reading the mystery riddles book.
Maudie: I didn't interrupt you, I politely told you the answer of the riddle.
Me: I would never forget my encounter with the girl who came in the through the classroom window.
I looked at Maudie who was looking back at me.
Me: We have a lot of memories in this place don't we?
Maudie: I hope we can continue to make more.
I looked away, my heart pounded as the two of us sat in silence.
I look over at Maudie and she was looking up into the sky.
The sun was setting, creating an orange sky.
The orange sky, the houses in the background, they weren't as eye-catching as Maudie at that moment.
It took a while before Maudie noticed me staring at her.
Maudie: What?
I could hear my heart beat louder, but only I could hear it over the music.
Me: It's nothing. -I looked away in embarrassment
Maudie: Thank you Ezra. I'm glad you asked me to start a detective agency with you.
I was about to turn around and face Maudie to thank her too when Ava and Kyle came out of the office.
Me: Hi guys.
Ava: The party went great. Everyone is having fun and Kyle didn't accidentally break anything.
Kyle: Hey!
Maudie: Are we going to have our yearly photo in front of the office?
Ava: Yep, I have the camera and the stand.
The four of us crowded around the door.
Kyle and I were at one side and the girls were at the other.
Ava: Everybody say, "The Inbestigators!"
Everyone: "The Inbestigators!"
