My interview was yesterday and it went great.
The company said to wait for an email within a week.
Today is Sunday and I was planning on relaxing and play video games in the office, but life had other plans.
Ava, Amelia and Maudie barged in the office today and told me that there was a case we needed to solve.
Ava and Maudie was originally coming to the office but they met Amelia who was also planning to hire the Inbestigators.
I was glad that Maudie had come but I shouldn't be weird, so I should try to be professional.
Amelia: I've received a love letter this morning and I want to know who sent it.
Ava: We'll help you. Right, Maudie?
Maudie: Right we just need the detective kit.
Me: Ava, just so you know we don't work for free, so unless you want to pay for the coloring supplies yourself, I hope you separate your personal and work lives.
Amelia: I have money. I have a job, you know.
Amelia takes a wallet out of her bag and takes a ten dollar bill from her wallet and handed it to Ava.
Ava: See Ezra. Payment.
She waves around the bill.
Me: Fine, tell us everything.
Maudie brings out her notebook.
Maudie replaced the notebook many times for the past 5 years, but she kept all of them because they were precious keepsakes.
Maudie: This pen isn't working.
What Maudie said gave me an idea, she carries a notebook and a pen everywhere but the pen isn't always good or working.
I should probably get Maudie a great pen later.
I was so busy thinking of pens, I couldn't really pay attention to the case.
Maudie: Let's go.
Maudie grabbed my hand and dragged me.
Me: Wait, where are we going?
Maudie: Weren't you paying attention? We are headed to the sender's house.
I was confused by the sudden dragging that I didn't notice that Maudie was holding my hand.
I seem to be less nervous than before but my heart still beat faster.
I tried to keep my cool and relax but it was hard.
Ava and Amelia were rushing ahead because Maudie told them who the sender was, Maudie was slowed down because she tried to keep in pace with me who was speed walking.
Me: Hey Maudie, how long are you going to hold my hand?
Maudie: Oh, sorry. I didn't realize I was still holding your hand.
She let go of my hand, but I could see her face slightly turn pink.
Me: It's fine.
I grab her hand and I start running, but not too fast or else Maudie might get overwhelmed.
Me: Personally, I don't mind holding hands with you.
What is wrong with me!
How could I say such an embarrassing thing?!
It was probably good that I was slightly ahead of Maudie, she couldn't see my red blushing face.
We caught up to Ava and Amelia, we were right behind them.
When we reached our destination, I let go of Maudie's hand.
Ava looked at us.
Ava: Why are you two red?
I looked at Maudie and see that she was blushing too.
Maudie: I was... umm... I'm not used to physical activity and I overheated.
Me: uhh... Me too.
I felt sad that she's blushing, not because of me but because of running.
Amelia was at the door and she rang the doorbell.
A guy opened the door and started talking to Amelia.
Ava: We should leave, it's impolite to listen to a private conversation.
So the three of us left, and proceeded to return to the office.
While walking back, Maudie asked a surprising question.
Maudie: Ava, aren't you lonely?
Ava: What are you talking about?
Maudie: Well, most of your friends now have partners. They would hang out with you less so they could go on dates.
Ava: Well, I can't say you're wrong, but I'm glad that they have people precious to them. And besides I can hang out with the Inbestigators.
Maudie hugged Ava.
Me: Ava that reminds me, someone hired the Inbestigators to plan a party. I'm sure it's meant for you but it's kind of annoying to organize the cases and the party requests.
Ava: Sorry Ezra. If only they could request it from me directly.
Maudie: Ava that's it. Instead of people sending requests through the Inbestigators it would be better if you had your own agency.
Me: A party planning agency?
Ava: OH. EM. GEE. I totally should have a party planning agency! But I don't know where to start.
Maudie: You should be glad that you're friends with Ezra.
Me: I can help you Ava. I took a bunch of business related lessons before, and I think that you should start with a website and then advertising.
Ava: Yeah. I am so excited.
Ava ran ahead, leaving me and Maudie.
The air was filled with awkward silence.
Maudie looked at her phone and said.
Maudie: I have to go home. On Sundays me and my dad try to make food combos, it's how I first discovered salmon and peanut butter.
Me: Today has been tiring but it was fun. I hope you enjoy your food combos.
Maudie: Bye Ezra. And don't forget to say goodbye to Ava for me.
She ran off in the opposite direction.
I continued walking, while Ava was far ahead.
I'm glad that Maudie and I grew closer.
I hope that in the future I will mature and improve myself so I can one day be by her side.
