(8) SPECIAL CHAPTER

Maudie's POV

It's been a week since Ezra, Ava and I helped Amelia.

Two days ago, Ezra got a reply from the company and it said that he got in.

So to celebrate, the Inbestigators are going to have a little party on the beach.

Ava just started her party planning company and The Inbestigators will be her first customer.

It's not going to be a big party It's more like a small get together between our families.

At first Ezra didn't want a party but with a bit of convincing from Poppy, Ava and I, he finally gave in.

Right now I'm in the car with my dad heading to the beach.

Me and my dad are bringing, food, a couple of chairs, a big beach umbrella and salmon and peanut butter sandwiches just to mess with Ezra.

For the beach party me and Ava went shopping for new swimsuits because I outgrew my old one.

Ava bought a light red bikini with purple hearts.

I got a light blue one piece with pink floral patterns with frills.

I wonder what Ezra might think.

And before I could think about it, the car had stopped and my dad was telling me to go outside the car.

We all agreed to meet at Chelsea Beach, but it seems like we were the first to arrive.

Me and my Dad started setting up the chairs and the umbrella, when Ava called.

(Ava): Hey Maudie. I saw your car parked here, where are you?

Me: When you reach the sand turn left and we'll be there.

(Ava): Thanks, Maudie. See you soon.

Dad: Who was that, Mauds?

Me: It was Ava. I'm going back to the car to get the food.

I walked back to the car, and saw Ava's car and went over to help.

Me: Hi, Ava. Hello Mary and Alex.

Alex, Ava's dad, was pulling a chair out of the back.

Mary, was bringing out a cooler out of the back seat.

Ava was on her phone talking to someone.

Ava: Hi Maudie. I'm on the phone with Kyle because he forgot where we were meeting.

Ava paused, probably because she was listening to Kyle.

Ava: Well that doesn't make it better. Just tell your sister to go to Chelsea Beach.

Me: Didn't Kyle's sister move to Spain?

Ava: She did but she's visiting this year. And she wanted to relax so she'll be hanging with us. Unfortunately, Kyle's parents can't make it because they work during the weekend.

Me: That's too bad, there'snothingwe can do about it. At least Alice will be coming. What about Ezra?

Ava: Ezra and Poppy are on their way. Poppy texted me a while ago. They'll probably arrive any minute now.

Ava put her phone in her pocket and started helping her parents.

Me: Let me help.

So I helped them bring out all the stuff in their car, and right after we finished I heard a voice from afar.
