[Y/n's pov]
Weeks passed from my first meeting with Beomgyu, and things haven't particularly changed in our relation.
We ignored each other on a daily basis and spoke only if we had something important to say.
Instead I became very close with Yeji and Lia, we would always hang out after lessons and we would also study together for the exams.
Exams.
I was already anxious just thinking about it. The amount of study was huge and I wanted to achieve good results.
For this reason I always stayed in late in the library to repeat the things I've studied.
Today was no different.
It was 10 pm and I just got out of the library, since it would close soon anyway.
As I was exiting the campus and walking towards my dorm, I heard someone sobbing.
I contemplated about what to do, but in the end I decided to go and see what was happening.
I couldn't believe my eyes. Never could I have imagined finding him like this.
Beomgyu was crouched on the grass crying with a very sad expression.
"Beomgyu, what happened?"
He heard my voice and turned his gaze on me
"Oh y/n, I know you hate me then why are you here?"
He was drunk.
I smelled alcohol as soon as he spoke. He looked wasted to say the least, and he also looked heartbroken.
"Beomgyu let me help you I'll take you to your dorm"
Yes, I wasn't very fond of him but I have my values as a human, and now he needed my help.
"Thank you" he answered with a tired tone while trying to stand up.
We started walking together and I held his arm to keep his balance.
The sad note in his eyes never leaving.
After decrypting his confused directions I finally found his dorm. It took us almost 30 minutes.
"Do you need help or you're good on your own?" I asked in front of his door
"I can manage it alone"
"Well then I guess I will leave, goodnight Beomgyu"
I looked at him one last time before turning around.
"Wait!" He spoke with desperation in his voice
"Yes?" I asked while looking directly at him
"Can- can you please stay?"
There was a moment of silence.
"I understand this may seem strange, but I'm going through a rough time and I just need some company"
I was a bit taken aback and couldn't answer right away.
But the look of loneliness in Beomgyu's eyes induced me to accept his offer. I couldn't bear leaving him in that state.
"You can take one of my shirt and a pair of pants"
I was utterly embarassed. When I decided to help him I couldn't even think that I would end up in this situation.
"Umm there's no need, don't worry"
"I insist, you can't stay with the same clothes you've worn all day"
Once again I found myself accepting his offer. There was something in the way he asked me things that made it for me unable to refuse.
When we were finally relaxed, Beomgyu surprised me again for the third time that night.
He started telling me about what he was going through. Alcohol definitely helping him open up.
He told me that his father was severely ill and he was afraid of losing him.
He came from Daegu and due to college he couldn't be near his father in this rough period. He even thought about dropping out of uni, but his father insisted for him to keep studying.
He showed me a new side of him that I never knew existed. His vulnerable side.
That night we grew a very strong bond.
"About the prank y/n" he suddenly began while looking at the wall "we didn't start off on the right foot, but I always knew you weren't a bad person. I want to apologize if I gave you the wrong impression"
"Don't worry Beomgyu. I have to be honest and confess that I thought you were a shallow person. But tonight I discovered a new side of you and I'm sorry if I judged you off of the prank"
Beomgyu finally looked at me and smiled for the first time that night. It wasn't a forced one, instead it was a genuine smile and I could see that.
The boy I used to ignore was, after tonight, very dear to my heart. I felt at ease with him, something I hadn't felt in a while, and I liked that.
