[Y/n's pov]
"Please stay y/n" repeated Beomgyu after my silence.
I was wonderstruck. Never had I saw him so in need of my presence.
I couldn't say no to him, not in that state, not right now.
"I'm staying, don't worry" I answered reassuring him.
He took me to his room and with a frenetic tone he explained all that happened.
"While we were watching the movie a notification suddenly popped up on Chaeyeon's phone, and I unconsciously looked at it. I had to look twice, I was shocked when I saw what message she had received
[J: hey baby how about tonight?]
Is what was written in it. Can you believe it y/n? I asked her what it was about and she quickly told me that it was her cousin who always called her that. We're in a couple and we should trust each other, but I could see that she was lying. She kept asking me if I was mad and if I was alright, and I couldn't bear hearing her voice anymore. Therefore I spoke a bit too loud and I actually felt like shit after it. Life is a fucking hell lately, my dad is almost dying and she had to do-"
"Your dad is what?" I asked shocked by his last statement
"Yes y/n, he's getting worse and the doctors gave him 2 months maximum"
"Beomie I'm so sorry to hear that. If I knew it I would have helped you a bit in this rough period" I said while looking directly at his teary eyes
"Oh y/n, what would I do without you?"
My heart exploded.
Beomgyu needed me.
I was necessary to him.
"Y/n do you think I'm not enough for Chaeyeon?"
"Beomgyu I don't want you to ever think something like that. You are the greatest person I've ever met. You're a kind soul under the silly facade you use to protect yourself. If Chaeyeon doesn't want you she's the one losing, you'll be great on your own since you're already shining with your own light" I finished while a tear escaped my eye.
He looked at me smiling warmly and came closer to hug me.
I cried silently while hugging him.
He didn't deserve to suffer the way he was, he deserved to be loved and cherished.
Not the way Chaeyeon was doing it. She was only ruining him.
He deserved the best in this world. And even if I wasn't the best I wanted to see him enjoying this life.
After a month from that night Beomgyu's father died.
We all went to Daegu for the funeral.
