The evening passed in a blur.
The day filled with celebration and feast naturally ended, and as dawn began to fall, many of those who enjoyed the feast were scattered, drunk and unconscious everywhere in the estate.
Khairos, on the other hand, was peacefully sleeping beside Hennesse. At the sudden time that struck at the midst of dawn, his eyes slowly fluttered open while the corners of his lips faintly rose, infatuated seeing Hennesse.
He carefully inched closer to her, who's back was facing him. His smile awkwardly hardened, quickly disappearing from his face as he saw the light colored hair, almost the color of snow.
Bewildered at the situation, Khairos was completely stiffened in place as he belatedly realized that it was not Hennesse who was sleeping beside him, but Elhannes.
'..!'
Because of his hazy memory last night, he had assumed that Hennesse had gone back to her room when he couldn't find her anywhere. And when he went back, a figure was already in bed, asleep, assuming it was his wife who had returned.
With a face full of disgust, Khairos immediately got up, moving away from Elhannes in a blink. "This bastard... Why are you here!"
Meanwhile, in another room, Hennesse was peacefully asleep in the warmth of Devonne's warm embrace. He held her in his arms with a faint smile on his lips, immersed in the moment with her.
"Sleep more, Inesse." He softly whispered in her ear.
'Everyone was drunk and unconscious last night, I couldn't even ask where to get a blanket, nor could I take from another occupied room.'
He still could remember every detail from the night before. When they briefly kissed, and when Hennesse had quickly fallen asleep right after. Even when she complained in her sleep that it was very cold, he was left with no other choice as he kept her warm in his arms all night.
"Nnn." A faint muffled groan came from Hennesse's lips as she unconsciously snugged closer onto his arms, rubbing her cheeks on his hard chest with her arms tightly wrapped around his body.
The corners of Devonne's lips rose to a soft smile seeing that she still had the same habits as before.
"Rest more Inesse." He softly whispered as he gently combed her hair with his fingers, wanting to stay longer in that position with her.
Amidst of admiring her, who was in deep slumber in his arms, Devonne glanced at the leftover water and medicine on the bedside table behind her, the medicine he had prepared last night for Hennesse's headache.
'Ah... I should prepare a new medicine for when she wakes up.'
Thought he didn't want to leave her alone, Devonne pushed himself to leave in order to prepare a medicine for her morning fog. (This is term they used for hangovers in medieval times.)
After staying with her a few more minutes, Devonne slowly rose from the bed and brought Hennesse a blanket from another room.
"Sleep well, Inesse." He whispered as he placed a soft kiss on her forehead before leaving the room.
"Oh, you're here again." The middle aged woman spoke upon his arrival at the kitchen.
"I need another bowl of medicine for headache please."
"Just in time. I prepared a lot because of the feast yesterday. I'm sure they will all come here for a bowl as soon as they wake up." The woman laughed as she handed him a full bowl.
"Thank you." Devonne politely said.
"Ah, but you seem perfectly fine. Is it for you?"
He smiled. "No, it is not for me. It's for my beloved."
