Harry and Neville knocked on Snape's office door.

"In!" he said, opening the door halfway.

They entered his office, shivering. The shadowy walls were lined with shelves of large glass jars, in which floated all manner of revolting things they didn't want to know the name of at the moment. The fireplace was dark and empty. Snape closed the door and looked at them.

"So," he said softly, "the train isn't good enough for the famous Neville Longbottom and his faithful sidekick Potter. Wanted to arrive with a bang, did we, boys?"

"No, sir, it was the barrier at King's Cross, it—"

"Silence!" said Snape coldly. "What have you done with the car?"

Harry gulped. This wasn't the first time Snape had given Neville the impression of being able to read minds. But a moment later, he understood, as Snape unrolled today's issue of the Evening Prophet.

"You were seen," he hissed, showing them the headline: FLYING FORD ANGLIA MYSTIFIES MUGGLES. He began to read aloud. " 'Two muggles in London, convinced they saw an old car flying over the Post Office tower... at noon in Norfolk, Mrs Hetty Bayliss, while hanging out her washing... Mr Angus Fleet, of Peebles, reported to police.' Six or seven muggles in all."

Neville felt as though he'd just been walloped in the stomach by one of the Weeping Willow's larger branches. If anyone found out James had bewitched the car... he hadn't thought of that.

"Most unfortunately, you are not in my house and the decision to expel you does not rest with me. I shall go and fetch the people who do have that happy power. You will wait here." The two boys were too scared about Professor McGonnagall coming, that they didn't say a word, nor did they look at each other.

When McGonnagall walked in, she instantly raised her wand and Harry and Neville flinched, but, unlike what they thought, she was lighting the fire.

"Honestly, Severus, I don't know how you can stay in this room for long without freezing to death. Now, you two, sit and explain."

"Well you see, Professor..." Harry launched into the story. "So we had no choice but to fly the car."

"Am I correct in thinking that you, Mr Longbottom, have an owl?"

"Yes, Professor."

"And why did you not send a letter via that owl?"

Now that they thought of it, that would've been the smart thing to do.

"We-. I-. I didn't think-"

"Clearly."

They were interrupted by a knock on the door. Snape was smiling so big, it looked as if he was a child on Christmas Morning. Dumbledore walked in, but instead of looking disappointed, as Neville thought he would be, he looked excited.

"Hello boys! I heard you flew a car here. Is that true?"

"Yes, Professor."

"Wow! How was it? Did you encounter any problems?"

"Sir, they were seen by muggles." Snape said.

"That sounds bad."

"It is. I recommend they should be expelled."

"That seems a little harsh, Severus." Dumbledore said.

"I agree with Professor Dumbledore." McGonnagall said, much to the relief of Harry and Neville. Snape's face darkened. "But you will receive consequences. I will be writing to your parents and you will get detention for two weeks. You will receive letter about your detention in a few days, once the start of year rush calms down and if there are any issues please see me about it."

"How are James and Lily?"

"Um. They're doing quite good, sir."

"Severus, do you remember James and Lily?"

"Yes, professor." Snape said through clenched teeth.

"As I recall, you and James did not always get along great did you?"

"That is correct."

"Professor, may I suggest we talk about this later. I really do have to get back to my Transfiguration class and Snape should really be on his way to his Potions class, which I believe is with Mr. Longbottom and Mr. Potter." McGonagall said.

"Ah yes. Right. Well good bye Harry and Neville" Dumbledore said cAlMlY

As the both of them were walking along the corridors, Hermione bumped into them panting.

"Guys!" she panted. "Look what I found"

Neville and Harry looked so confused it was actually funny.

"Come here" she said, holding up a piece of paper that looked like it had been through a lot. "I lit the match, not realizing that it would cause my entire world to go up in flames. I never understood why I did it, I wasn't in my right mind.

Now I understand why I did it. I sacrificed my entire life for him, just for death to purely interrupt my entire life. One funeral after another. All caused by the war they started.

I would never be friends with the Princess of Glenrovia. Who in their right mind would? She's completely obnoxious, and the reason we don't live there anymore.

Just because she didn't like me, she framed my mother and I for poisoning the queen, (which was all fake of course, all staged) therefore resulting in us getting exiled from Glenrovia.

I was brutally bullied years ago about my name, but I love it. I used to hate it, but my name describes me, and it's unique."

"How does this relate to the philosophers stone? " Harry asked.

"Really you both are idiots, haven't you read Hogwarts A History?"
