Chapter 7 - In sleepwear

Benedict POV

I couldn't focus with the meeting. Important investors pa naman ang mga kausap ko. Naglalaro sa utak ko yung nakita ko nung isang gabi sa hagdan.

It was Deann in her sleepwear.

What was she thinking wearing shorts and tank top outside her room?

Napa-iling ako at ngiti.

She has got the cutest little butt I ever saw. Makinis at maputi rin siya. Sexy.

I sigh and tried to get her out of my mind. "You're crazy thinking about her while talking to investors, Benedict." I thought. " "Get your head on this meeting, not her butt"

I just couldn't wait to finish this meeting and go home. Couldn't wait to see her again.

"So Mr. Qampos when our trip to Taiwan is done we can go ahead and sign up the papers to start our venture" my investors told me.

I got stun with the idea. Another 3 days to another country? This cant be, I cant be away that long.

"Sir, pinabook na tayo ng ticket ni Mr. Yang papuntang Taiwan. Gusto niyang makita mo ang factory nila."

I couldn't help feeling annoyed, bigla ko tuloy nasungitan ang secretary ko. The good part though is that confirmed investors na ang mga kausap namin. I just need to go with them to Taiwan and its all done.

1 week. 1 fucking week ako mawawala.

Hinagis ko ang suot kong suit sa kama. At niluwagan ang aking necktie. Saka ko binuksan ang laptop ko.

I need to see her.

I checked the videos. Nagpa install ako ng security cameras sa buong mansyon. I checked first the live stream.

There they are, laughing over a koreanovela again. Pati si Dad nahihilig na din sa pagnuod nito. At enjoy na enjoy sa kalokohan ng mga bida sa palabas.

Dad really likes her. No dull moment, sabi niya. Maalaga din daw. And best of all mabait, may mabuting puso sa lahat ng bagay.

The following days, I became busy with work and travel. I dont even have time to check the security cameras sa mansyon. Minsan lang akong nakatawag kay Dad to check on him and tell him about the good news as well.

If I can make the time go faster. Im dying to go home. I cant explain how Im feeling, eversince I started running the company ngayon lang ako nagkaganito.

What Deann made me feel.

After Taiwan trip I went straight to the mansion. I just couldn't wait. And Im sure, busy na naman sila manuod ng koreanovela.

Habang nasa sasakyan, napapangiti ako lalo na sa mga pasalubong kong dala. I bought 2 pajama set with mickey mouse design for Deann. And a necklace, its a rose gold with a simple heart pendant.

Sinalubong ako ni Manang Lita sa garahe palang.

"Good afternoon Benedict. Kamusta naman ang byahe mo?"

" It was a success manang Lita." Nakangiti kong balita sa kanya. " How's Dad? Is he asleep?" Agad kong tanong.

"Ah eh, wala sila, nagyaya ang Daddy mo na mamasyal. Naiinip na daw ang Daddy mo kaya nagpunta sila ng Ayala Triangle. Kasama niya si Deann at Kim."

"Kim?"

"Oo, siya yung bagong nurse ng Daddy mo. Kapalit ni Nurse Loren."

"I see." I got a bit disappointed pero diko pinahalata. " Well I'll be in my room. Magpapahinga na lang muna ako manang, napagod din ako sa byahe."

"Gusto mo bang kumain muna? Hahatiran kita sa kwarto mo?"

"No need Manang. Lalabas na lang ako later pagdating ni Dad para sabay kaming mag dinner."

Pagdating ko sa kwarto ay nakatulog din ako agad.

I must have been really tired, when I woke up its already past 7. I immediately went out of my room. Straight to Dad's room.

Walang tao.

I went to the main stairs ng may marinig akong ingay coming from the main door.

It was them, nag- uutos si Dad sa kasambahay na iakyat ang mga pinamili nila.

" I enjoyed this day," sabi ni Dad.

Nang makita ko sila, naka alalay ang isang lalaki sa kanang kamay ni Dad, si Deann naman sa kaliwa.

Ngiting ngiti pa si Deann habang nakatingin sa lalaking yun. Are they flirting?

"Ah... Benedict hijo. You're home!" Masiglang bati ni Dad sakin.

I became gloomy with what I saw, sudden changed of mood. Kaya humalik lang ako kay Dad at tumingin kay Deann.

" Where have you been?" Napasibangot ako " Diba nasabi sayo ni Loren na bawal mapagod si Dad?"

"Ah...sir, nagyaya lang po..." Sabat ng lalaki.

"Am I talking to you? And who are you?" Baling ko dito.

Halatang nagulat ito dahil napanganga siya. Pero hindi na uli nagsalita.

"Benedict, he is my new nurse Kim" si Dad " kapalit ni Nurse Loren."

Nakita kong napayuko si Deann at napakagat ng labi. Parang maiiyak.

" Wag mo silang pagalitan dahil ako ang nagyaya na lumabas."

Napabuntong hininga ako. Honestly, Im not sure why I got mad. I understand that sometimes Dad wants to go out. At hindi naman talaga bawal sa kanya.

I must have been jealous of what I saw.

"Have you eaten?" Tanong ko kay Dad. Diko na lang pinansin ang dalawa.

After dinner, nagkulong nako sa kwarto. Sinabihan ko na lang si Deann at ang bagong nurse na asikasuhin mabuti si Dad.

Nagpakalunod na lang ako sa mga papers that I need to read and sign.
