Sasuke left a few weeks ago. He couldn't stay any longer or he would risk Kakashi getting suspicious or getting caught by someone else. He left with the promise that Sakura wouldn't have to worry about when she would hear from him next. It was hard to see him go but she felt reassured by his promise and admission of his feelings.

The house felt a little less lonely now that she shared some memories there with Sasuke; when she sat on the couch she thought of their kiss, when she was at the dining room table she thought about him admitting his feelings to her, and when she laid in bed she thought about them being together.

"Let's continue to monitor her overnight. If she stabilizes and remains stable she can be discharged" Sakura told the nurse after looking over a patient's chart. She handed the clipboard back to them and left the room, onto the next patient.

She has gotten back into her normal work routine over the last few weeks. She was happy to have a sense of normalcy back but she did miss having Sasuke at home waiting for her.

She wasn't able to dwell on that for too long. The hospital has officially broken ground on the clinic so she now had a lot more responsibility added to her already busy schedule. She didn't mind, she was excited for all her hard work to finally come to fruition.

The clinic would be built right next to the existing hospital and be connected by a corridor to make it easily accessible. The design was meant to be comforting for young children. It wouldn't be white and cold like the regular hospital, it would be bright with colors and designs.

"I wish he was here for this" she said quietly to herself as she reviewed some newly suggested floor plans. There were multiple variations spread out across her desk, red marks littering the pages to point out what she liked and disliked about each.

She was there later than she truly anticipated, way later than dinner. The moon was already high in the sky and there wasn't a star in sight. She quickly tidied her desk and shrugged on her coat before leaving. It wasn't quite Autumn yet but the night air was chilly.

The house was dark per usual, no one home to greet her after a long day. She flipped on the lights as she made her way through the house into the kitchen.

'Cooking sounds terrible right now' she thought to herself as her stomach grumbled with hunger. She bent down to dig through the fridge and found the leftovers from the previous night. 'This will work.'

She warmed the food up and sat at the table and ate in silence. Once she was finished she packaged what was left and put it back in the fridge, washed her dishes, and went upstairs for some well deserved sleep.

She stirred in bed, barely opening her eyes she could see it was still dark outside.

'Looks like I can get a few more hours in' she thought happily to herself.

She stretched her limbs out in each direction and immediately felt pain in her abdomen. It wasn't anything terrible, just very uncomfortable. She rolled to her side, tucking her knees to her chest, which helped subside the pain enough for her to get back to sleep.

When she woke up to her alarm the pain was still there, more intense even. She laid a hand across her stomach and attempted to heal herself but it wasn't doing anything, the pain wasn't going away.

"What is going on?" she groaned as she forced herself into a sitting position. She flipped the covers back to swing her feet off the side of the bed and when she did there was a pool of bright red blood underneath.

"Wh- wha-" she stammered out in shock, her breath quickening as her chest heaved. Her heart was racing. "I- I need to get to the hospital" she said aloud; she wasn't completely sure if she was doing this trying to calm herself down or if she was in shock.

She quickly changed and got to the hospital as fast as she could. She stumbled into the lobby and the sight of her made the receptionist go white; she looked pale, sickly pale, and blood was running down her legs.

"I-I need Shizune. Now!" Sakura barked at the receptionist.

She nodded her head and quickly made an emergency announcement for Shizune to report to reception immediately. It only took a moment for her to come running. When she saw that the emergency was for Sakura she was shocked but quickly got her composure under control and took her into the closest room.

"Shizune I don't know what's happening" she gritted through her teeth. The pain was almost unbearable by this point.

"Sakura I'm going to take some blood and give you medicine for the pain, okay?" Shizune told her calmly. Sakura nodded her head and laid back on the table while they worked. She wasn't sure what she was given but her head went fuzzy and the pain just melted away. She didn't even feel the needle.

She woke up later, looking around she was still in the hospital. She wasn't sure how long she was out or what time it was but the room was dimly lit, the sounds of staff walking back and forth could be heard outside her room. Her clothes had been changed and she was hooked up to fluids.

Ino entered her room quietly, by the look on her face she hadn't expected Sakura to be awake.

'Has she been crying?' Ino's eyes were puffy and pink, indicating that's exactly what she had been doing.

"Ino. Ino what's the matter?"

She pulled over a chair to sit next to her bed and held one of Sakura's hands tightly in hers. Sakura's gut sank thinking about what Ino was about to tell her, by the looks of it it was serious.

"You don't know what happened, do you?" Ino asked. Sakura shook her head no.

"Sakura I'm so sorry" she whispered, "You- you had a miscarriage. You were pregnant."

'Pregnant? I was pregnant?'

She felt like the wind had been knocked out of her. Her vision blurred as tears filled her eyes and spilled over, leaving hot tracks down her cheeks.

'How can this be? Pregnant. I was pregnant with Sasuke's child.'
