Chapter 13

Tsukasa grinned one last time before vanishing into the black smoke, leaving nothing behind. And Nene could only stare as he disappeared completely.

She turned to look at Hanako who was still in shock.

So, Nene was now Hanako's Yorishiro. That was a surprise for her too. The reason for her to be here and all.

Hanako calmed down a bit but was still pale. Seeing his brother always affected him badly. Somethings never changed.

His grip on Nene tightened protectively. Kou looked at the two stunned.

"Hanako...?" Kou said, hesitantly. "How is Senpai your Yorishiro...?"

Hanako sighed. "I think you know why kid."

Nene looked at the two boys back and forth, confused. Yeah, why was she his Yorishiro?

Kou seemed to realise the reason and nodded understandingly at him. "Ah...I see."

Nene thought.

Wait.

Yorishiro is a thing that is important to a school mystery. Like very important. Does this mean...?

She took a glance at Hanako.

Am I very important to him?

She was sure that if she was alive right now her heart would have been going wild. She placed a hand over her dead heart. Or...

Does he love me?

That was the only logical explanation.

Kou soon left to go back to class, telling Hanako to keep her safe. Hanako teleported them keeping her close.

Hanako then hugged her making her snap into reality. Then she realized that they weren't even in Tsuchigomori's office anymore. They were in the infirmary.

Her head was placed between his neck. "I've always loved you, Yashiro." He whispered, shyly. "I just didn't know how to tell you..."

Nene leaned back a bit to turn and look up, finding his amber eyes gazing right back at her. He cupped her face still looking at her with tender, her breath hitched at the sight. And then he started leaning closer closing his eyes.

She was against the wall trapped in his strong arms.

Her fingers trembled as she held onto his front shirt. As he leaned in.

"I love you too, Hanako-kun." She whispered, softly, closing her own eyes at last. And in an instant, he was kissing her. He sighed against her mouth in pure bliss.

Nene kissed back. And was well aware of how their bodies were pressed up against each other. It was overwhelming.

She broke the kiss and pushed him lightly. He stopped immediately.

"Y-yashiro...?"

He looked red due to the blush on his face as he looked at her.

"Hanako-kun, now what happens?"

"What?"

Nene sighed. "I meant about Tsukasa-kun."

Hanako smiled, relieved. He pulled her against her and lying on the bed with her on top. He was hugging her protectively.

"The kid and I will protect you. We'll save you from the price you have to pay for Tsukasa." He said, reassuring her.

Nene smiled as she rested her head against his chest. "Okay, Hanako-kun."

"I'm also sorry for being selfish. Not being able to let you go." He said, guilty.

She looked at him smiling fondly. "It's okay, Hanako-kun! Now we have all the time in the world. I'm happy to be with you. So, please don't blame yourself!" She exclaimed as he looked at her in awe.

"Ok, Yashiro." He grinned, a little tease in his tone.

Indeed, somethings never changed.
