The Rise of the Red Queen

I woke up screaming from another nightmare but I just laid in bed amazed that my six fiancés didn't hear my screams at all. I got up out of bed about an hour later and went to the joint kitchen downstairs. It was three in the morning by the time I was climbing onto the top step of the step ladder getting on my tip toes to get the canister of chocolate chips from the pantry. Darius made them put it up out of my reach after he found me eating them five months ago when he got home. I just about had it a little more of a stretch. I just got it when in my fingertips as I lost my balance falling off the step ladder and onto the floor hurting my right ankle in the process. I sat up and used my left leg to push myself up against the wall next to where the chocolate chip canister landed very happy it was metal not glass.

I sat there for two hours occasionally munching on the chocolate chips until Marie and Elena started for the day. I startled Marie when she came into the pantry. Before she could speak I asked "Please get Theo." "Right away Amity" was all she said before she left. Once Theo was there I said "We need to take another field trip. My right ankle is hurt." Theodore immediately looked at my ankle. "How long have you been here with it like that?" He questioned seeing my ankle twice the size it should be as well as bruising. "About two hours and it's really not pleasant" I said. Theodore scooped me into his arms before saying "I need to get two more guards to come with us before we can leave." "It's okay Theo get who you need. I can wait here." I assured him before he set me on top of the island and leaving the room.

I simply listened to the girls chatter as Theo came back with two of the guards, only one was assigned by my great grandfathers to me. The first one was from the Ricci Mafia. He was shorter in stature but was but had a belly with white hair and some wrinkles showing his age. The second one was in his 20s standing about 5'8 with a full round face and a husky style build. "This is Vincenzo and Viktor" Theodore said gesturing to older man first. I was skeptical of the new people but didn't show it. I made sure to play the child I was supposed to bringing the tears. Theodore picked me up immediately as I the whispered in his ear "Keep them distanced from me." I was taken to the emergency room and told I have a sprained ankle. They wrapped it in a pink ace bandage and gave me crutches. As well as instructions to stay off of it as much as possible with ice packs and elevation to keep swelling down.

Once we were back to the house I went to the private floors and laid down on the couch after kicking the crutches underneath it. I miss how things used to be. Even Darius has been too busy opening up a new club. I miss the carefree life they gave me. I miss the structure and security they gave me. I'm giving them time to adjust to this new life. I just hope they come around soon. The elevator opened and I wiped my face clean of the tears. I was expecting it to be Theodore checking in on me. I was wrong. It was Mark and he didn't look happy. I was grabbed by my hair and lead to our kitchen where he forced the medicine down my throat making me choke on it. He proceeded to unbuckle his belt before taking it off as forced me against the counter before striking me over my clothes ten times. As he redid his belt once more he spoke one sentence "You will not skip your medicines again, understood?" "Yes Maker" was my choked reply before he walked away and left the private floors. I crumpled into a ball on the kitchen floor defeated.

I don't know how long I laid there but I heard the elevator doors open and footsteps echoing off the walls. I let out a sigh when I saw it was Theodore  calling out to him with a simple "help." He wasted no time coming to me picking me up only for me to let out a small scream. "What's wrong?" Theodore questioned. "Theo a lot is wrong but right now I need you to take me to my room on the fifth floor and call for Marie or Elena." I answered.  Once we got to my big girl room Theo went to place me on the bed causing another scream to be let out. Theo did as I asked having Marie come up. "Theo my crutches are under the couch if you would bring them up for me. Marie please grab a pair of sweatpants and a loose long sleeve shirt" I asked them both as they each easily did as I asked. I then dismissed Theo.
