~~back at the tower~~~

¨I really should talk to her¨ Jay said. The Titans, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Superboy, Artemis, and the teen wonder sat in the living room watching tv. A little while ago, Jay had apologized to the team for being angry at them. The team forgave her as they understood that she was defending her friends.  ¨It might be a good idea. But, remember that it's not your fault.¨ Artemis said placing a hand on her friend's shoulder. The girl teen wonder smiled at her and headed to the martian's room. ¨What am I going to say?¨ Jay thought to herself. Jay knew she shouldn't have yelled but she was afraid that something would happen to the titans and she mostly just didn't know how to tell them how she truly felt when she was here and what it meant to her. When she looked up she saw that she was already at her door. Emily took a deep breath and knocked on her door. She waited a while, but there was no response. She knocked again, and again no response. Emily opened the door, nervous about why she wasn't answering. ¨Miss M, are you in here?¨ she asked. She looked around and stopped when she saw someone. ¨M'gann!¨ Jay screamed. Jay ran over to her side, quickly checking to see if there was a pulse. A sigh of relief came out of her when she found that the martian was only unconscious. Jay scooped up the girl in her arms and ran to the med bay.
The rest of the young heroes came to the med bay to see what had happened. ¨I don't know what happened. When I came, she was lying on the ground unconscious.¨Jay explained to them. "Everyone stay here and watch over Miss Martian. Jay and I will go check the room to see what happened." Robin stated. "Be careful." Sunfire mouthed to Jay before they parted ways.
"And you didn't hear anything when you got there?" Robin asked. "Nothing. She was unconscious when I got there." Jay explained to her partner.  "So, something had to have happened after we all split up and before you got to her room," Robin suggested. Jay opened the door to the guest room M'gann was in and started walking around to find any clue as to what happened. "Find anything yet?" Jay asked. "Nothing. Absolutely nothing." Robin answered. "Whoever did this was smart. There's barely anything in here to show who may have done it." Robin pointed out. Jay was staring out the window, pondering how this could have happened. Jay stared out the window for a couple of seconds before noticing something odd about the window. Jay ran her fingers over the window and found what she was looking for. "Hey, Rob, whoever did this knows how to use a gun," Jay explained to her partner. "What do you mean?" Robin questioned. "Think about it. No clues left except one clue that's small enough to be easily missed unless you know to look for it." Jay explained. " I know who you're talking about." Robin said while gritting his teeth and the white of his mask narrowing into thin lines. "And there's only one way to be sure, so?" Robin asked. Jay turned to look and him, she knew what this meant if they were right. It was terrifying to think about if something like that was happening again but they had to know the truth. "Let's go, partner." Jay replied with the blankest face she could make.
