Chapter 8

Young justice sat in the living room of titans tower reflecting on what happened last night. No one had said a word about what happened. The silence was broken when Superboy slammed his fist against the counter. "What were you guys thinking?!" he yelled at the three. "Jay is our friend,why would you betray her!" he asked furious as Jay was one of the people he trusted most on the team. "Superboy has a point. You invaded someone's privacy all because you did not trust their friends. If they trust them then we should trust them." Aqualad said, once again being the voice of reason. "Robin and Jay leaving the team is fine but the fact that they formed a new team and never told us"Miss M was explaining but she was interrupted by the titans minus Robin and Jay entering the living room. Silence fell over the two teams. "You may not trust us but you should at least trust your own teammates."Raven said in a monotone voice. "That's always the question isn't it. Who can you trust?" Miss Martian said walking forward to Raven. "ENOUGH!!!!" a voice yelled stopping everyone in their tracks. The teams turned to see Robin and Jay in front of the door with Jay looking quite furious. Jay, aggravated, walked towards Miss Martian and Raven, stepping in between the two. "The titans are my friends. And, if you don't trust them, fine." Jay said looking at the team. She stepped forward,glaring at the martian. "But, I swear to god you will leave them alone. If you have a problem with them then you have a problem with me." Jay said. "I thought after the whole mole thing, we wouldn't have any trust issues. But, apparently we still do. I know that I may have not been super close to all of you, but to me you were my allies and teammates. And, I expected that when we did become a team, you would respect my privacy!"Jay said fuming with anger. "My entire life, I have never felt more proud of myself than I feel here. I know what it's like for everyone to not like you just because you don't fit into their idea of who you should be. You have no idea what measures people would go to." Jay said,who voice starting to crack as it filled with sadness. "It became hard for me to trust others because I didn't want to be hurt again. Being here with the titans, I was reminded that who I am is something to be proud of. And they understood that,and they reminded me that it's okay to be afraid,and sad. I don't always have to be strong,and keep my walls up"Jay explained. "The titans are my friends and this is my home! And I will not tolerate you attacking my friends because of who I am,and how I act." Jay said standing protectively in front of the titans. She let out a sigh and then walked away heading towards the gym to train.

Jay punched the bag over and over again. She was frustrated with the case but she was also mad at her friends. She had hoped when coming here that they would trust the titans as she trusted them. It seemed that her mind kept wandering to M'gann. She and M'gann were teammates and friends but, they weren't the closest of friends. Not like she was with Starfire and Raven. Were they even really friends? ¨After the simulation, I thought she would be more careful with her powers. And, I at least thought she would understand that my mind is off limits. We told her not to read our minds, only the bad guys. But, because she doesn't trust my friends, she goes inside my mind when she knows that I don't want her to.!¨ Jay thought to herself. As Jay continued thinking about this, her punches became harder and faster. SNAP, RIPP!!! The chain holding the punching bag broke which caused it to fly across the room. She walked over to the bag,and turned it over to see that she had ripped the bag open. She rolled her eyes and groaned. She knew she was going to have to clean it up. As she starts to clean up her mess, a blur comes through the room,and the mess is gone. ¨Thanks KF¨ Jay said turning to face the redheaded speedster. ¨No problem. I wanted to apologize for what happened.¨KF said with a sad look on his face. Jay walked over to the speedster and hugged him. ¨It's okay. I could never be mad at you. And besides, you're not a hard person to read. I could tell you were just worried about us. The titans are my friends but you're my best friend. You have known me and Rob longer than anyone else on either team.¨ Jay explained. ¨She's not wrong¨ a voice said behind them. Robin stood there leaning against the door, the similarities between the boy wonder and the dark knight very obvious at the moment. ¨You were one of the first other teen heroes we met. You didn't see us as little kids who needed to be protected. You believed in us.¨ Robin said. ¨Trio¨ KF said grining at the two. ¨Trio¨, the two nodded. The three high fived and helped Jay finish cleaning and fixing the gym.

A figure sat in the dark staring at a screen showing the two teenage teams. Underneath the mask, the villain smiled. ̈At last, I will get my revenge on the titans ̈ the mysterious person said. They got up from their seat,and walked towards a cage. The bars of the cage shuddered and creaked. As the creature walked into the light, CinderBlock grunted and punched the cage trying to break free. ̈ ̈Not yet. We need the others. And, once they arrive, we can finally destroy the young heroes once and for all.¨. The mask villain walked away from the cage, smiling at the thought of defeating the teenage heroes.
