Chapter 5

We were almost in Peru. I was staring out of the window. It was very awkward for us. We both wanted each other next to each of us, close. We wanted our skin touching. But I refused to look my brother in the eye, for I fear I might die. Only two shape shifters left in the entire world. One female and the other male. It seems like a simple choice... Just have sex with him, get pregnant and rebuild our legacy.

But it wasn't that easy. He needed to want it. I needed to want it. Their is no doubt that we were attracted to each other. I just wish it were easier. I fiddled with my fingers. I had a lot to think about while I'll be in rehab. For my so called "addiction". I looked in the mirror. My eyes silver crescents, while I looked over at Leo's, A light violet.

I wish I could harden his personality. He always sees the best in people. Even me. Even me a person who commits crimes on a daily basis. Or maybe I should be like him. But it was all because of my mom. Who hardened me, to the person I am today.

FLASH BACK

It was the middle of November and I was with my mom. 12 at the time, we were ice skating. "You ready Shadow?" Her bright smile, her dark violet eyes. I nodded. I started skating and I fell and hit my arm on the ice. "Mom... I can't do it!" She skated up towards me. "You WILL skate all the way to the end. Now get up and try again!" She grabbed my left arm, pulling it out of the socket and accidentally breaking it. "If you want something, you got to work for it. That's the Felix legacy. Know that!!"

FLASH BACK END

She died 4 years later. Daniel Kilffer killed her along with my older sister and brother. Leo and I were at a camp with my dad. When we came back to the house, everything was covered in blood. I remember covering Leo's eyes shielding him from it. My dad went mentally insane. He couldn't deal with the death of our family. He started seeing our dead family members. When he went insane, his form altered and he went into a blood rage. The PCA(Person. of Certain. ABILITIES.) killed him. So here we are. The only thing that can kill us, is our family pendant. Which the pendant also protects us.

Leo and I have our pendants around our neck, and the other family members are in our vault. After that, Leo and i got separated and i ended up in the streets. Apparently he fixed up our old house and put repartitioned it and made it look nice. Many family generations lived in that mansion.

I only ran into Daniel Kliffer once, and I almost killed him. But before I could do so, he threatened Leo. He had five guards around Leo, and he said if I didn't leave right now, he would die. So I left and I haven't seen him since. But now he knows my biggest weakness is my love for my brother.
