"Alright so I am just going to go over everything you need to be aware of. I'll try not to overwhelm you and if you have any questions or concerns feel free to just cut me off at any point and ask." His eyes were soft as he looked at us and I couldn't help that my heart softened a little.
Giving him a nod he takes that as a cue to continue.
"So first things first I'll just give you the basic rundown of all the rules. If you need to we can go over them and change anything you don't feel comfortable with. I'll go one by one so guys can cut in anytime if you have any questions for me or concerns about it."
"The first rule is a simple one clean up after yourself. Yes we have maids but don't take advantage of that." He waited for a moment and when we made no move to say anything he continued.
"Next we have curfew. On weekdays it'll be 12 since you guys are old enough and I'm hoping mature enough. On weekends we don't mind what time you come home just make sure to keep us updated and give us an estimated time."
"After that one we have smoking and drinking. Your mother and I don't mind if you drink or smoke but if you are make sure it's with someone you trust, you're not driving if you do it, and if you want to go crazy do it in the house so you are in a safe environment."
"You will have assigned body guards that follows you when you leave the house. I know it may seem a bit extreme but they were put into place after you guys were taken from us. So this is a rule I will not be making any changes too. We already lost you guys once I am not willing to go through that again." I could see the tears gather in his eyes as he finished that last sentence and it squeezed at my heart a little bit.
"Next you are to be respectful towards the staff that works for us. They're helping us they will not be disrespected." I gave a slight nod at that one.
I liked that rule.
"Alright if you don't have any questions onto the last thing for today, school." At that my entire body froze up. I knew I was going to have to make an excuse on why I wasn't in school.
As soon as those words left his lips I heard Athena let out a snort beside me.
It caused Donatello to look over at her and quirk his eyebrow up at her.
"Am I missing something?" He asked confused on her behavior.
I immediately just feel exhausted. I didn't even think about this being a conversation.
"I don't know. Aphrodite is he missing something?" Her voice was condescending and I held back a wince at her harsh tone.
At the he turns his eyes to look at me and leans back in his seat while crossing his arms.
Deciding to just bite the bullet and get it over with I let him know the reasoning behind her actions.
I quickly think up an excuse I can use and just decided to tell him I dropped out.
"I dropped out of school when I was younger." I was embarrassed if it was my choice I would've been in school the entire time. I hate that I was stupid. For the last year I've been trying to learn and I went back to school online.
I didn't want to let them take my education away from me knowing that I had the power to go back after I left that household.
So for the last year I've been doing online school since I could go at my own pace and I was ended off on a sophomore level before I was dragged here.
I know I'm close to my correct class as me and Athena are supposed to be juniors but I hated how Athena constantly calls me stupid. I know she doesn't know the real reason but it still hurts.
I could see the shock on his face after I told him and a look of disappointment crossed his features before he hurried and locked it away.
I felt my heart ache as I seen that emotion pass over his features before I quickly told myself to get over it.
I see him take a deep breath before turning himself fully towards me.
"Alright you will be going back to school. I will not allow that in my house. Don't want to go to college? That's fine but you will be getting your high school diploma. I will be taking you to take a test so we can see exactly which grade we need to put you in. I don't know what made you decide to drop school but you will be completing your high school education." His voice was stern and had no room for arguments.
I could tell Athena was enjoying watching me get scolded by him as I saw a small smile on her face as she looked at us.
I gave him a quick nod to show him I understood but inside I was excited to finally be able to go to an actual school even if I was behind.
"Now as I was saying before that. I do expect you to have good grades and if you are struggling I do expect you to ask for help or hire a tutor. I will not punish you for having a bad grade but I will expect you to get it up." Donatello finishes.
"Alright I understand." Athena replies.
"Alright. Now that we have gone over that. Aphrodite on Saturday you will be going to take a test to see your academic level and after that we will be going shopping for school supplies. At that time we can also shop for your rooms and clothes. Anything else you may need or want we will be getting Saturday." He finishes as he stands to his feet and walks towards us.
I stop myself from tensing and wait for him to dismiss us.
"Alright that's all I need at the moment. You guys are able to leave." And with that I stand to my feet and quickly make my way out his office with Athena on my heels.
