"i'm home!"

i close the door behind me and took off my shoes before putting on some comfier slippers. i took off my face mask and breathed out.

"y/n! you're back!" i heard my girlfriend shout from the living room and soon heard footsteps coming towards me.

i took of my coat and hung it up on a rack. soon enough i was engulfed with a hug. "sorry i took a little longer ning." i said and hugged her back.

"mhm, it's alright. you're here now." ningning replied as i walked over to the living room while she was still hugging me like a koala.

"it's awfully cold today, i'm gonna go get the heater." i said and ningning lets go of me. "okie! should i find us a movie?" she asked.

"sure, i'll be right back." i said and smiled before going to get the heater.

after getting putting down the heater, i decided to go to the kitchen first and find something to eat while watching the movie.

"hmmm.."

i opened a few cabinets and soon found a medium bag of popcorn seeds. "hey ning! do you want some popcorn?!" i shouted and heard a "yeah!" for a response.

i smiled and took the bag of popcorn seeds and taking out a big pot. i turned on the stove and put the pot on top of the burner. i put a little bit of butter and put all the popcorn seeds in the pot. once i covered the pot, i went over to the living room and check on ningning.

"found a movie to watch yet?" i asked.

"yup!"

"what movie did you choose?"

"um you'll see!" she replied and smiled cheekily as i chuckled. "alright, alright."

after making the popcorn and putting them into a bowl, i went over to turn on the heater and sit next to ningning.

so far the movie was normal until the title screen showed up. "hey! you picked a horror movie?" i said and frowned while ningning giggled.

"i should've guessed." i mumbled as i watch ningning takes a popcorn and eats it innocently. i shook my head and smiled a little before looking back at the television.

after about ten jump scares, hiding under the blanket thirteen times, hugging ningning tightly almost all the time, we finally finished the movie.

"that.was.horrifying." i said and sighed. "next time, i'm gonna pick the movie." i said as i stopped hiding under the blanket and heard ningning laugh.

"okay, okay. well it's getting late, should we go to sleep?" she said stood up to stretch her arms out.

i glanced at the clock on the wall and sighed tiredly. "i suppose so." i said and went to turn of the television while ningning went to wash the bowl.

once i turned off the tv, i went over to turn off the lights for the living room. i get myself ready as i wrap the blanket around me and lay my hand on the light switch.

once i pressed it down, i immediately ran over to the kitchen where ningning is. "whew," i breathed out and look around only to find a clean bowl lying on the kitchen counter.

"uhh.. ning? where'd you go?" i called out but didn't receive a response. 'maybe she already went upstairs.' i thought and decided to turn off the lights for the kitchen and ran towards our shared room like a scared idiot.

i sighed in relief once i entered the room.

"y/n!"

"waahh!!" i shouted and flinched when i heard my name being called out all of a sudden. "oh, ningning. geez that movie is stuck to my brain." i said and giggle.

"teehee, sorry about that. anyways i'm gonna go take a shower first." ningning says and went over to kiss my cheek.

"in this cold weather?" i asked and she only nodded before going over to the bathroom.

"it's alright, uh i'll just lie here on the bed.. with my thoughts.." i said as i went under the covers while my head was poking out of the covers.

my thoughts suddenly went to replay some scenes from the movie and i immediately stood up. "nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.." i continued to say nope repeatedly while getting my towel and going inside the bathroom.

"on second thought, i'm gonna go take a dip in the bathtub."

"y/n, i'm going to close the lights now." i turned my head over to ningning who had her hand on the switch. i didn't say anything and instead just nodded.

once the light closed, i turned my gaze to my right and turned on the lamp. i watched as ningning ran over to me and made herself comfortable on the bed. i stared at her lovingly and she did the same.

we had a bit of an unintentional staring contest and she eventually won while we laughed at each other. soon we started to play a random game, she said it'll help me stop thinking about the horror movie.

"okay, okay. hmmm i spy with my eye... a pretty face!" she said and smiled. "pshh me duh." i jokingly say and giggled. "nope!" she replied and i stared at her in disbelief.

"just kidding, it's you and me." she said and i burst out laughing.

"alright, i think we should actually sleep." ningning says and scooted herself closer to me. i chuckled at her cute action as i wrap an arm around her while she buried her head in the crook of my neck.

"goodnight ningbaby, i love you." i said and smiled. "goodnight, i love you too." said ningning in response and closed her eyes. soon i closed my eyes and felt myself drifting off to sleep.
