you woke up feeling the sun shine hitting your face. a typical way to start an entry of chapter.

you tried to move and hide your face from the light but stopped when you felt a pair of arms tightly wrapped around you.

you knitted your eyebrows in confusion, still processing what was happening until you realized it was your girlfriend hugging you like a koala.

you finally open your eyes and adjusted to the light. after a while, you looked down to see your girlfriend's head laying comfortably on your shoulder, arms wrapped around you and the blanket tucked up to her neck.

realization hits you when you thought of what day it was.

it's aeri's birthday!

a grin crept up from your mouth and remembered what you had planned for today. but first you had to do a seemingly impossible task, and that is to get out of bed.

eventually you slowly and carefully got out of bed and replaced yourself with a pillow for giselle to hug.

a relieved sigh escapes your lips and wasted no more time as you quietly went out of the room to start making breakfast for your girlfriend.

around thirty minutes later, giselle felt a little cold and soon woke up. she frowned upon feeling a pillow instead of you and sat up tiredly.

she sat there for a few seconds before widening her eyes when she smelled delicious aroma of food. she figured you were making breakfast already and guessed right when she arrived at the kitchen.

"y/n!" she beamed upon seeing you.

"aeri! good morning birthday girl." you greeted her with a warm smile before setting the final fluffy pancake on the plate and serving it on the table.

"wah! you made a lot of food, this is so sweet of you." giselle says as she admired the table full of delicious breakfast food.

"it's your special day aeri and there's more from where that came from." you replied and chuckled before finally putting the plate of stacked pancakes on the table.

"bon appetite."

"itadakimasu!"

"waahh, this place is so pretty." giselle says while looking around, admiring the beautiful artwork and statues.

"thanks for taking me here y/n." she says and smiles next to you.

you returned the gesture before replying, "of course! i knew you'd love it here."

before her birthday, you had already planned a few places to go to with her. one of which is the newly opened museum near your place.

you continue to admire giselle while she takes pictures of the artworks and reading some of their information and description.

"have you found a favorite yet?" you asked as she turns her head to you, while you turn your gaze to the artwork in front of you.

"a favorite? well everything here is very pretty, i don't think i can pick a favorite." she replied and pouted. you glanced at her and chuckled softly before returning your gaze to her.

"what's so funny?" she says with a confused look on her face.

"among all these artworks, i think my favorite has to be you."

'ah shit that was cheesy, i kinda regret saying that.' you thought.

she looks at you, amused and a shade of pink started to form on her cheeks.
she grips on her phone before playfully slapping your arm.

"don't say things like that." she mumbles as she bites the inside of her cheeks and avoids your gaze. she admits that she secretly likes it though.

you smirked before putting your hands in the pockets of your hoodie and walking away slowly.

"h-hey! don't leave me alone." she says and catches up to you, still flustered from before.

"okay everyone, in your places."

"i'm gonna turn off the lights, nobody move once you're in your place."

"wait, wait! i forgot the confetti!"

and as the lights turned off, chaos struck.

"ah! eonni i fell! help!"

"hey i can't see anything!"

"everyone calm down please! they'll be here any second!"

"ning, be careful! i might spill the cake."

"sorry!"

"can someone turn on the lights?"

the door creaks open and the lights turned on. as you flicked open the switch, you gasped at the sight in front of you. oh this wasn't how it's supposed to look.

giselle who was beside you, watched in awe at the sight.

"uhh.." was the only thing that came out of your mouth.

"happy birthday aeri!" karina exclaims in attempts to distract them from the mess of balloons everywhere and ningning who was sitting on the floor.

a banner was hung up at the ceiling with the words saying, "happy birthday aeri".

ningning then popped open the confetti from her hands. winter stood by the side with the cake, which is thankfully, well.

"happy birthday aeri-eonni!" ningning says with a cheeky grin. silence engulfed the atmosphere at they were waiting for giselle to says something or at least change her expression.

"rina, what happened?" you mouthed as karina shrugs nervously. you silently sighed before gently squeezing giselle's hand.

'i suppose the surprise turned out alright.' you thought.

and as giselle felt your hand squeeze hers, she immediately snapped out of her trance and smiled happily.

"you guys.. thank you for this!" she exclaims and starts to tear up. she lets go of your hand and ran up to hug her members.

"anything for our giselle! but it wasn't us who planned all of this." karina said as they let go of the hug and she adverts her gaze towards you.

giselle turns around to where karina was looking and her smile widens. she immediately ran to wrap you in her arms.

"thank you y/n." she whispers.

"anything for you aeri." you replied and hugged her back with a smile.

"well what are we waiting for? we prepared some fun activities!" ningning says and stood up excitedly.

"i wanna eat first." winter added and went to put the cake on the table.

"alright, alright. we'll eat first."

the two of you let go of the hug and shared a loving gaze.

you took the opportunity to give her a peck on the lips before skipping happily to the kitchen where the others were.

giselle chuckles before following you from behind with a bright and happy grin.
