The day was hot; kids, parents and even loners splashed around in the public pool, or if they were rich enough, they played in their own. Some people lazed around in their houses while the air conditioning cooled them off.
On this particular day, some kids weren't able to enjoy themselves like they'd hoped. In a small classroom kids harmonized flawlessly- that was until someone accidently missed a key and everyone groaned out of frustration.
"Guys, come on! We don't have all day." A firm voice said.
The man who had spoken forcefully placed a pile of paper down onto the piano, frustrated with the kids in front of him.
"Mr. Schue, we're trying our best. You can't exactly prance around like Rudolph in 100 degree weather." A small voice said. The young man wore layers. A pink cardigan wrapped around his neck. He wore a baby blue button up shirt with black tights, and highly fashionable shoes to go with his outfit.
"Kurt, let's not do this right now." Mr. Schue brushed the teenager off. "Alright everyone, let's take five."
The group of teenagers scurried away to their bags where their water bottles were. They all drank so fast water started to spill down their necks onto their clothing.
Mr. Schue glanced over at the kids. He loved them dearly, like they were his own children, so he didn't know why he was being so hard on them today.  Maybe it was just the heat? Once the kids' were finished having a small rest and cooling off, they all got back into their positions, but instead of starting the music up for them, Mr. Schue nodded to the kids and gave them all a small bow.
"You all did amazing today. I'm sorry for keeping yous here after school. Now, go out and enjoy the day while yous can!" He smiled and waved off the kids.
They all side eyed one another, confused as to what was happening. One second their teacher was scolding them, then the next he was letting them free without any warnings. Cautiously, one by one the group of children began to slowly walk to their bags, picking them up and throwing them over their shoulders.
One student didn't budge though. She was short, and seemed very determined to get work done. Mr. Schue glanced over to her and raised his eyebrow.
"Yes, Rachel?" He asked.
Rachel perked up when he spoke to her, "I'm staying to get some more vocalizing done. Can never be too prepared. Besides, after this i need to head to the library and go over a book- did you know Mrs. Peters doesn't provide us books anymore? We have to physically go to the library ourselves and find the book, then read it there! It's totally barbaric." Rachel scoffed.
Mr. Schue nodded, wide eye, not knowing what to say to the young girl. He supposed he could see where she was coming from, yet after a while of textbooks only useable on schoolgrounds had been getting stolen, they had to make changes so they were only accessible in the school library, with hidden cameras spread around the room, alerting teachers if one of the books were being stolen. It was a stupid rule, and they were taking all the precautions for little to no reason, or at least that's what a lot of the students thought.
Mr. Schue left Rachel alone. He walked down the hall to the teachers lounge, hoping there'd still be some coffee in the machine.
Rachel sang her heart out, but no matter how many times she started over, something just wasn't right for her. She couldn't seem to get the right key, although others would say she had managed to get it..... ages ago. Twenty minutes passed, and Rachel had finally managed to hit the notes she had wanted. She let out a sigh of relief then walked to her bag; picking it up she left the choir room and headed down the school hall to the library. The library was at the back of the school, which agitated Rachel a little, considering it was hot out, and all she wanted to do was go home and cool off. But school came first.
She arrived at the library and was surprised to see Noah Puckerman there, She walked over to him and let out a confused smile.
"I didn't think you knew the library existed." She jokingly said.
Noah looked up, alarmed to see Rachel standing in front of him.
"Oh, well a bunch of teachers said they'd hold me back a year if I didn't get to work. So I scouted the school and found this place. Who knew schools had library's?" Noah laughed it off.
Rachel took a seat beside the boy. He looked her up and down for a brief second, wanting to know what her motive was.
"Do you need any help?"
"With what?" Noah narrowed his eyes.
"With studying. I can help get your grades up if you'd like?"
Noah shook his head. He was grateful for the offer, but in the end, he didn't know if Rachel was the best person to go to for help. Especially when all she'd do is talk none stop. Plus, Noah had someone else who was going to help him, someone who he knew was very smart, well mannered and doesn't talk as often as Rachel.
"Nah, it's okay. Quinn's going to help me out tomorrow night."
Rachel was surprised to hear this, "Quinn? I didn't think yous were close?"
Noah nodded, then went back to studying, although both he and Rachel knew he wasn't actually studying, he was just looking at all the pictures in the textbooks.
Rachel got up and walked down one of the library isles. She found the book she needed and went back to the table Noah was seated at. But by the time she got back, Noah had vanished. His books were still displayed on the table, almost as if he was there, just invisible.
Brushing it off, Rachel opened her textbook and began writing everything down on a piece of paper.
By the time Rachel was done it was practically dark outside. Some lights in the school had been shut off, which unsettled the young teen, but for the most part, Rachel knew she was safe. She walked down the hallway towards the exit, but then she heard a thud, she stopped in her tracks and turned around. There was nothing there so she shook her head and continued walking. Then she stopped again. Several thumps echoed from behind her. Nervously, Rachel slowly turned her body and looked behind herself. There stood a person in a black suit with a white face mask that looked like a weeping person. They held a buck 120, that they slowly moved around in an intimidating manner.
Before Rachel could process anything, the person had made a full on sprint towards her. Rachel went to run away, but the floors had clearly just been mopped, because instantly, Rachel slipped to the floor. She let out a blood curdling scream as the person jumped on top of her.
Rachel kicked and punched with all the strength she had, but she was small, and didn't know how to fight, so no matter how many punches or kicks she got in, it didn't seem to do anything, except tire herself out.
The person behind the disguise, pinned Rachel's arms down with their knees, leaving the young girl virtually defenceless. The second Rachel was about to scream, they took their arm up that was holding the buck 120 and brought it down with all their might into Rachel's forehead. Then they removed the knife, watching in satisfaction as the blood poured out of Rachel's head like a water fountain.
Rachel's eyes went lifeless, and numb like. She looked into her killers face, trying to see if she could recognise the eyes behind the eye holes. But there was nothing.
The person brought up the knife again and stabbed Rachel right in the throat, killing Rachel immediately.
Footsteps echoed down the hall, alerting the killer. The person who had committed the crimes got up to their feet and ran away into the dark. Leaving little to no evidence that they were the ones who had committed such a crime.
