It was an eerie night. The wind howled, trees toppled over, colliding with the paved roads and occasionally crashing down into houses. It was only two days after the glee kids, and everyone else in town had heard about the unsettling news involving Artie, his mother and Kurt.
There was no warning the town was going to be in for a storm during the night, and when it had picked up, everyone immediately felt unsettled and stood on the tips of their toes all night. A storm was the perfect moment for someone to get attacked.
Mercedes was seated on her bed, currently listening to every sound the storm made. Almost always, Mercedes practically jumped to her feet when she'd hear the sound of a metallic echo in the garden. Somewhere during the night, the young girl was finally able to get some shuteye. Unfortunately, her slumber was interrupted by a THUD coming from somewhere in the house. Mercedes froze, prepared to cover her face with her blankets.
Almost screaming and sprinting out of the bedroom to her parents, her phone rang. Without much hesitation, Mercedes leaped to the side, grabbing the phone off her side table and answering it, not bothering to see who it was, expecting one of her friends to be on the other line.
"Hello?" Mercedes asked.
There was heavy breathing on the other line, creeping Mercedes out, she prepared herself to end the call, but as she was about to hit the red button, a voice came through, startling the girl.
"Don't you dare hang up!" They rudely said.
"Who is this?" Mercedes nervously asked.
"The last person you're ever going to see ~alive~" The voice cackled.
Immediately, Mercedes hung the phone up and dashed out of bed. Just as she opened her bedroom door to run down the hallway to her parents, GhostFace jumped out from behind the wall, tackling Mercedes to the ground. The loud thud must've woken her parents, because her mother got up and peered around her and her husbands bedroom doorway.
"What's going on, M?" She questioned.
GhostFace was covering Mercedes' mouth, with forceful pressure. In a quick, thoughtless motion, GhostFace took his buck 120, stabbing it into Mercedes' side. Her eyes went wide as she tried to scream out for help, she tried kicking GhostFace off of her, but the man or woman behind the mask was much stronger than she'd have thought they would be.
GhostFace removed the knife from her side and brought it to her neck, taunting her with the knife before ultimately deciding to slice her neck open, when they heard footsteps coming down the hallway. GhostFace stood up and ran to Mercedes' window, before climbing out just before Mercedes' mum stepped foot in her daughters bedroom. She let out a blood curdling scream as she ran to her daughters side.
GhostFace was off into the night.~~~~~~
Quinn was standing in her kitchen, she'd kept trying to message her parents, but whenever she did, she'd be left on read.
At this point, she gave up on expecting them to be home in a few days, knowing they most likely wouldn't be.
Quinn looked up from her phone when she heard a knock at her door. Frozen stiff, Quinn stared at her front door; she knew not to answer it; she knew no normal person would be standing outside in such weather.
Instinctively, Quinn grabbed the biggest knife she had. Mustering up enough courage to move away from the kitchen, Quinn slowly walked off to the side so she could get a slightly better view of the front door. The knocks were faint and almost sounded like a toddler knocking on a door.
All of a sudden, Quinn was being grabbed by her face and chest. Someone had broken into her house! Accidentally dropping the knife, all hope faded from Quinn's eyes. The person tried to throw Quinn to the ground, but Quinn managed to stay on her feet. She bit their hand as hard as possible and the person behind the disguise let out an agitated grunt. They let go of the teenager, and so Quinn took this as an opportunity to run towards her basement, one of the only rooms in the house that only she knew had a secret compartment.
The person chased after her. Just as Quinn was about to open her basement door, she was grabbed by her hair and forcefully ejected onto the ground. Quinn kicked the person in their shins, in the stomach, even in the groin area to keep them away from her. The most unsettling part, was that the person who was at the front door was still there, knocking ever so lightly.
GhostFace slashed his knife around like a mad man, trying to inflict any sort of injury on the girl. GhostFace managed to get on top of Quinn, but the teenager still had plenty of fight in her. She screamed, telling them to get off her. She screamed alerting them that she had security cameras in the house. She screamed that the police would come and arrest them- but they both knew Quinn hadn't called the cops, and no one would actually find out she was dead until someone went to her house to check if she were okay.
Without thinking, Quinn grabbed their mask and pulled it down. When the mask had been completely removed from the person Quinn let out a fearful cry. The fight wasn't over though, whomever Quinn had revealed snatched their mask out of her hand and continued to try murdering her.
Before the person got a chance to put their mask on, Quinn used this opportunity to lunge forward, slashing the person across the face with her nails. She didn't hesitate, and she continued to slash them with her nails until blood was drawn. GhostFace still didn't give up, so Quinn did what she knew to do. She went for their eye. Cutting it clean open with her nails, blinding the person. They screamed out in agonizing pain and stepped off Quinn as they clutched onto their face.
Quinn kicked them away once more then made a run for it down the basement steps, making sure to shut and lock the door behind her.
Quinn rummaged around in the basement, quickly moving the washing machine out of the way to reveal a small hole in the wall that opened into a small, tight space. Quinn quickly crawled in and moved her hands underneath the washing machine, dragging it towards her, blocking anyone from being able to see where she was hiding.
Covering her mouth to stop her breathing being heard, Quinn heard her basement door being bashed down. Footsteps quickly ran down into the room. The person looked around furiously, searching for the young teenager. Several minutes passed before they finally gave up and ran back up the stairs. But Quinn wasn't about to move, she wasn't about to let go of her face, fearing they were still in her house.
Quinn went to reach for her pocket, but came to a quick stop when she realized she'd left her phone upstairs on the kitchen counter.
Quinn remained in that spot all night and all day the next day. She was too traumatized to move, and she couldn't stop the tears falling down her face.
The young girl didn't know if whoever had attacked her was waiting for her to leave her hiding spot, or if they'd actually left her house. All Quinn knew, was that she wasn't safe either way, since she removed their mask and made it out alive- she knew they'd be back for her so she didn't call the police and get them busted.
After all, where's the fun in committing crimes when you're stuck behind bars?
