"Dear, aren't you hungry?"

My gaze was focused on the table as we sat in the dining room. The children all left once they were finished and she stayed with me until I lifted my fork. The crow though, who was it? Or was it just a normal bird? It looked vaguely familiar though...

"Y/n."

"Sorry, did you say something?" I ask. I didn't even notice she was talking to me. She raises an eyebrow as she stood to take the children's plates over to the sink.

"I can help." I offer and she gives me a glare that tells me to remain seated.

"No, you're staying there until you eat." She says before walking out to the kitchen with the plates. I lift up the fork and take a few bites of the food, but I wasn't that hungry. If anything I was eager to get out instead of sitting here deep in my thoughts. I sigh and take a small sip of the glass of water that was next to the plate.

"You should tell her." I jump at the sudden noise choking on my water when I saw nobody was in the room. My face burns when I realized it must be Millard.

"Tell her what?" I ask as I hold the cup of water. I don't know where he was but it seemed he enjoyed messing with me.

"Y/n, it's plain as day you love her, just say something." He says and I fight back the blush that dares to show.

"No, I don't. Not in that way." I refuse to believe I did as I hear him sigh.

"Miss P is right, you're very stubborn. Not to mention oblivious." He says and I give him a frown.

"When did she say that?"

"She says it all the time with you. It's obvious that you two flirt all the time. Especially what Enoch told us last night." He explains and I feel myself turn red and he laughs. "You do, now go tell her."

"No, I am not!" I whisper shout towards wherever he was and I look up to see Miss Peregrine in the room. "Oh Miss Peregrine, I didn't see you there." I laugh a little when she raises an eyebrow and smiles a little when she sees my face turn red.

"Dear, just call me Alma. You're another adult in this household." She says as if that didn't send me into a flustered fit. I nod and she takes my plate, leaving me surprised. "What? I wasn't going to force you to eat everything, I'm just glad you did a little." She says with a confused smile and I give her a small one in return that makes her cheeks go a little pink. She returns back to the kitchen leaving a scent of vanilla in the room and I smile to myself.

"You love her, admit it and I'll stop bugging." I forgot Millard was here. I sigh as I give him a small smile.

"Alright." I say. "I think I'm in love with her."

"Children, it's time for the movie." She says and I realized this will be the first I see it actually happen. I know about Horaces gift, but I never seen it in person. Everyone heads into the room as I help her gather the plates and place them in the sink. I try to hide a smile when she places her taloned hand on my back guiding my to the room and I take a seat on the sofa with Emma. It starts out with a bit of clothing things when suddenly the vision shifts into something else. A crow. I hold back a gasp when I see it was the same crow I noticed from last night. I was in the dream as well along with Alma and a few of the children. They all stood in the doorway but Alma stood beside me as I kneeled down in front of the bird. The bird though shifted immediately into a person I knew all too well.

My father.

My eyes widened at the image and I quickly stood leaving the room despite some confused glares. I went into the kitchen and tried to calm myself down as I pictured him from the dream. He looked so different. He didn't have even an ounce of goodness in him like I thought he had before. He was a horrible person from the start but now it's just plain to see. My breath caught in my throat when I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist and when I seen the taloned fingers I knew right away who it was. She propped her chin up on my shoulder and I was growing a tad bit flustered from the hug.

"Are you alright?" She asks and I give her a smile, even when a small tear fell.

"I'm feeling great." I say and she sighs as she wipes away the tears that fell. She got out of the hug, now facing me as she looked me firmly in the eyes.

"I have to get the children ready for reset, do you want to stay here?" She asks and I know she already knew my answer. I nod as I stable myself by the sink and didn't even notice when she planted a small kiss on my forehead. She walks outside with the children and I take a seat at the table. Thoughts of today crept into my mind as well. I do love her, there's no point in avoiding it. The only thing is, does she love me?
