"So you're fucking her?" Gareth asked as the two friends walked down the hall.
A few people turned their heads and Eddie elbowed him in the ribs,
"First off, say it louder I don't think my uncle in the goddamn trailer park heard you and second, don't use that word, man, it's gross."
"So you're dating her?"
"Not exactly"
"So you just sleeping with her?"
"Mhm. No strings attached."
They stopped at Gareth's locker,
"That's sad bro, real fucking sad."
"Whatever, it's better than nothing."
"Whatever you say, man, whatever you say..."

Louella hadn't seen Eddie yet, that day. Maybe he was at home? Did he regret last night and not want to face me?
But sure enough, 5 minutes into Ms. O'Donnell's class, Eddie appeared in the doorway, looking as high as a kite.
Lou groaned shaking her head as he sat down beside her.
"Hi" he grinned.
"Hi..." she leaned over to him, "are you fucking high, right now?"
"Me? Pfft. No."
"You're unbelievable."
"What? You only live once, Lou"
"You're right, but would you like to spend that entire life at school? 'Cause no wonder you haven't graduated if you show up late and high to every class."
He blinked at her,
"Ouch... someone's in a bad mood today... oh, is it because I-"
"You shut the fuck up right now, Munson" she cut him off.
Eddie threw his hands up in surrender,
"Yes, ma'am."

That evening, Louella decided to go to Max's house, since she kept getting avoided at school.
When she pulled up to the house, she spotted Max poking her head out her bedroom window, groan and shut the curtain. Well this isn't going to be easy.
She walked up to the front door and knocked. No response. No surprise there. She knocked again before crouching down beside the pot plant on the front porch and fished out the spare key from the dirt. Hiding it in the dirt was supposedly better than hiding it under a rock or something like that Susan had said.
Just as she went to unlock the door, it opened. Max stared at her; arms crossed.
"You forgot I knew about the spare key, didn't you?"
She stayed silent.
"Okay..." Louella said putting the key back, "Can I come inside?"
Silence.
"Fine. Um, I just wanted to let you know that I'm not trying to replace Billy."
Max rolled her eyes and went to shut the door, but Lou slammed her foot between it and the frame. She pushed the door open.
"Max, I know you don't want to hear this. And I know you think I'm a liar and a skank or whatever, but you need to believe. I... I love Billy. I always will. And no one, and I mean no one will ever replace him."
The red head looked over Louella's shoulder. She turned and saw Eddie standing at his front door, watching them. She turned back to her friend,
"No one, Max."
"I really don't care."
"But you do! You're ignoring and avoiding me because you think I'm going to fall in love with some guy I've known for a week? Really?"
Silence again.
"Max, I love you, okay? You're like my little sister. I need you."
"Well then, you shouldn't have gone and slept with him."
Lou's eyes widen and she took a step back,
"How do you-"
"I went to your house last night. I wanted to talk. And when I looked through your window, I saw him carry you upstairs. Remember that? You were down each other's throats."
"Max, I-"
"Save it for someone who cares."
She slammed the door in her face.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
She took a deep breath before retreating down the steps. As she fumbled for her car keys, she felt a hand on her shoulder.
"You okay?" Eddie asked.
She stopped and looked up at him.
"Yeah... why wouldn't I be?"
"Because she just-"
She shook her head,
"Just Max being Max. She'll get over it."
"Okay... you wanna come inside?" He asked, gesturing to his house.
Louella looked at her car, then Max's window, then back to Eddie.
"Why the fuck not?" She shrugged.
A small smile grew on his face, and he led her over to his trailer.

"So, did you hear any of the stuff Max and I were talking about?" Lou asked from where she sat on Eddie's bed.
"I heard nothing. Don't worry... wait, did you want me to hear, or-" He responded, walking through his door, two beers in hand.
"No! No, it was just, uh- private stuff. Thank you." She said as he handed one to her, "I see you're not high anymore."
He began chewing on the ends of his hair as he rested against his desk,
"Yeah, sorry about that. I don't know, I guess I got nervous and smoking usually calm my nerves so..."
"Nervous? About what?"
"Seeing you. I didn't know how you were going to react after last night."
She set her beer down on his bedside table,
"I see."
"Did you... enjoy last night?"
She got up and began walking towards him,
"I did."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah... however, you did leave me a little... unsatisfied."
She stopped when she was standing between his thighs, her hands resting on them.
He grinned, leaning in close,
"I know I did... what are you going to do about it?"
She slanted her mouth over his, ghosting him,
"Make you beg for me."
His grin grew,
"Is that so?"
She gripped his belt, pulling him off the desk,
"Uh huh."
"We'll see."
