Chapter 30: Dom and Suba: The Lovers

Dom leaned against the wall while Suba was sitting on a barrel eating their candy. Justice, meanwhile, was overseeing the evacuation of the next village while the enforcers present assisted any civilians with leaving. One day...it took longer than it was supposed to, that's for sure...

The whole situation made Dom very moody. Having to see the sad and scared faces of people being evacuated from their homes made them just as sad. Dom looked over at Suba; how could they eat their candy so casually as though nothing was going on? Where did they even get it anyway?

Suba put another piece of candy in their mouth, but before they could start chewing it, Dom grabbed their wrist and chin.

"Hold on a minute..." Dom said.

Suddenly, to Suba's surprise, Dom placed their mouth on theirs. It was a full-tongue kiss; Suba felt too weak to resist Dom's advances while Dom was searching Suba's mouth with their tongue. When Dom pulled away, they were now eating Suba's candy while Suba was red in the face and trying to recover their breath.

"Hmm...just as I thought..." Dom said, "This candy tastes sweeter when it has your taste."

Suba started playfully beating Dom, "Dom! Why would you do something like that?! Don't you know how embarrassing that is when we're out here with all these people staring? This isn't the time or place for something like that!"

"But I like it when you blush; it's very cute..." Dom teased back.

"You...!" Suba pouted.

"Are you two finished?" Justice asked. Suba looked to see her standing right in front of them.

"H-how long were you there?" Suba asked.

"Your kissing got my attention..." Justice replied as though it was nothing.

"Geez! Dom!" Suba started hitting Dom again.

"That's enough, you two." Justice interjected, "We're ready to leave."

Dom stopped leaning against the wall and Suba hopped off the barrel and followed after them.

When you looked at the Lovers, you could instantly tell they were lovers (as their name suggests). You could even tell who was dominant and submissive in the relationship. What you couldn't discern immediately were their genders. Both of them acted masculine and feminine at different times. Sometimes, they would switch their behaviors without warning. Due to their status as Arcana members and their ethereal composition, there has been a rumor that the two lovers have changed their genders depending on their "mood". As for their original genders, no one knows for certain.

As everyone was about to leave, Richard and the remaining enforcers arrived.

"Richard? What happened?" Justice asked.

"We lost Krortis, Harold, Izzy, Pav, and some others..." Richard reported, "But I managed to take out half of the force that attacked. I had to pull back or else the Hero would've done us in..."

Justice placed a hand on Richard's shoulder, "You did well, Richard. Let's move with these people and head to the city."

Everyone was going to leave, until...

"Dom, what is that?" Suba asked, pointing upwards.

Justice and Dom looked at where Suba was pointing. Blocked by the sun was the shape of something flying towards them.

"Move, now!" Justice shouted to the wagon driver. The driver forced the horses into a gallop and the wagon moved quickly. Justice drew both of her swords and started spinning in place. When she finished, she had made a miniature tornado which she launched at the flying object.
