Chapter 37: Prospects & Luck; The Star & The Wheel

Opening Theme:

The tower seemed to accommodate the party as they made their way up to their next fight. Reighland led the group at the front while Y/N guarded the rear.

"How many other members do we have to deal with along the way?" Y/N asked

"At least three...six if we're unlucky..." Reighland answered.

"Who are these three?"

"Star, Wheel of Fortune, and Temperance." Reighland turned her head, "If we're unlucky, we may have to fight Sun, Emperor, and Hierophant before fighting Magician..."

The flight of stairs ended at a door that opened up into a wide room. The air inside it felt musty and hot. In the middle of the floor was a black figure with seven different colored dots running down the middle of their body. They were sitting with their legs crossed in a meditating position.

This guy really likes the number "7"... Y/N thought to himself.

Reighland, Y/N, and Kara moved to surround Star. Miriam had her sword out but stayed behind with Charlotte, who was readying her magic.

Suddenly, Star opened her eyes and made a hand gesture on her knees.

"Lam Muladhara." She chanted.

Suddenly, she burst up to her feet and the entrance behind Charlotte and Miriam shut. They were stuck in the arena now...

Theme of Star:

Star assumed a fighting stance with her fists raised. The dot below her hip level was glowing red along with her eyes.

Reighland held her sword reactively waiting for Star's attack. Star was waiting for Reighland, Y/N, or Kara to make the first move.

After a tense moment of nothing occurring, Star placed her hands in a circle at her hip level and closed her eyes.

"Vam Swadhisthana." She chanted again. The dot at her hip level glowed orange and her eyes were a glowing orange when she opened them. Black swords materialized out of the air and started attacking everyone. Reighland and Kara nearly collided in the madness and Miriam was helping Charlotte, leaving Y/N to deal with his own individual sword.

Y/N managed to get a glimpse of Star to notice that she wasn't moving, rather, she was staring intensely at them...like she was focused on something...

Y/N parried the ethereal sword away, pulled out his gun, and fired an explosive shot a Star. She dodged it, but doing so made her lose focus momentarily and the swords paused in their assault mid-attack. Star quickly regained her control and the swords resumed their attack.

"Reighland! Star isn't moving!" Y/N called out, "Make her!"

Reighland noticed what Y/N was talking about. Star stood motionless, controlling the swords from a distance. She fired a wide beam of light at her, forcing her to duck under it and lose sight of the swords. As they hung in the air, Kara quickly used a chain-lightning attack to disintegrate all the swords at once. Then she and Y/N charged at Star once Reighland's beam passed over her. Star, moving quickly placed her hands at her ab level and chanted, "Ram Manipura!" Her ethereal body solidified entirely and Y/N and Kara's weapons clanged off the solid material.
