chapter 9

The car ride back was awkward. Atlas was seething in his seat with bloody knuckles and dishevelled hair, the guy must have pulled his hair or something. I wanted to follow after him but roman stopped me and told me to keep eating my food, it was hard when you could hear things breaking and loud screams in the background.  especially when you keep hearing things like 'please I'm sorry i didn't know'

my mind was in pieces, why did he care so much about me getting some guys number, its not like I have my phone to ring him. besides i have commitment issues nothing ever works out for me. I slowly turned my head to him trying really hard to not be rude "there you go again ruining my day" the atmosphere seemed to shift in the room i could see everyone tense but i was not done yet "with the way you are I'm going to lose my fucking mind, you argue and fight with me, ignore me, oh of course lets not forget hoe, you fucking took me from my home" I wanted to throw another object at him. he finally looked up at me before pulling something out of his coat i saw the familiar shine of his gun, "one more fucking word Anisah and ill kill you right now and finish the job"

"whoa chill, she has every right to be upset" Zion jumped in for me, we reached a red light and Atlas put his gun away and I leaned my head against the window trying not to cry. nobody said another word until we reached his house. Getting out of the car first I ran inside and i could hear Manny and Zion call after but I didn't look back. this man has serious issues 

laying down on the bed i could feel tears wetting my pillow, he apologised the other week and all of a sudden he threatens to kill me after everything he put me through, part of me wants to be grateful because I'm not dead yet and at least I have a room and not locked in some dungeon. i was embarrassed he pointed a gun at me in front of people. this was always my luck every horrible person has to be part of my life somehow, before I could hide Zion storms inside with Manny who reaches out to hug me "I am truly sorry for what that prick did" his eyes were slightly red and he seemed breathless.

 Zion sat down next to me and rubbed my shoulders before lifting my chin up to look at him he eyes held warmth, Zion was an attractive man with neck tattoos peeking through his shirt, his hands felt warm and I couldn't help but lean into them Noah walked in and I looked up at him he stood in front of me handing me his phone "call your family" he said before quickly walking back outside. "We will give you some privacy and wait outside" with that they shut the door behind them

I dialled my sisters number it rang 3 times before she picked up "hello, who's this?" her voice was rough as always, "Hey Milan its me" it was quiet she let out a sigh "what have you done Annie" I got confused but before i could reply she carried on "you leave home for what reason and now mum and dad have to worry about you being missing, they are stressed enough but you don't care" this is not what i was expecting "you know nothing Didi" she hung up the phone before I could ask for any help the next time I tried to ring it went straight to voicemail. i tried ringing my parents but that also went to voicemail. wow just wow 

if they're so worries why wont they pick up the phone.

I didn't realise getting kidnapped meant i was being selfish i rolled my eyes at her ridicules words and walked outside to see the guys waiting for me including Noah. I gave him his phone back and muttered a quick thanks before i could go back in Manny grabbed my arm and turned me back round. "I want to show you something" we went into the kitchen and there was a door in the corner he opened it with a key and I knew this was it. The scary dungeon, "don't be scared we just keep photos and things from our childhood down in the basement" It was dark and they only had 2 light bulbs that would flicker here and there, the room was dusty and had books piled everywhere and old baby toys. He reached into a corner and pulled out a big photo album before reaching a certain page "this was our mother, she left us when we were young, our parents had an awful marriage and it ruined our family" he was looking down and smiling and the photograph "why are you telling me all of this?"
"I see the way you hesitate to talk about your family and I want you to know that it's okay not everyone is blessed with good parents but we pull through" I appreciated Manny for his compassion. "Our father was a horrible man, he blames Atlas for her leaving at the time I was much younger than him so he took all the beatings for me" his eyes were glazed like he was remembering something before looking at me and smiling "my big brother is a strange man, but I love him for saving my life countless of times it might not look it but since you've been here he's changed" I rolled my eyes since a few hours ago he pulled his gun out on me again. "He's back and forth with me once minutes he's nice and then he just snaps".
"I don't want to excuse his behaviour towards you because I know it's wrong, nobody has ever been kind to him other then me and the guys, people stab him in the back and girls use him for his fame and money, but ever since you came into his life your everything he never expected now enough about that idiot how was the phone call?"

 
" it was horrible Didi said I was being selfish for making amma and papa worry" part of me wanted to laugh and another wanted to cry, but I refuse to cry in front of people and would rather cry in private "my family never really liked me if I'm being honest my siblings are successful people with degrees and I barely finished college" I wasn't loved the way they were .  I could remember my mothers words to me "your no good to me being here and living under my roof" it was something she said to me every day until I turned 18. Milan and Aadi never stood up for me. The day she raised her hand at me I was 8 years old I was crying because I wanted to play outside with everyone else but mum didn't let me. 

" hello earth to Anisah"  I snapped out of my daydream to see mannies confused face "are you okay you spaced out"
"Yeah I'm fine, it's fine everything is fine" he didn't look convinced before shaking his bead "let's head back up we're all going to watch a movie" I changed my clothes into a silk pyjama set before making my way to the living room to see everyone was there setting snacks and drinks in the table "I call dibs to sit next to Anisah" Roman yelled out "nah I told you in the kitchen that I am" Zion snapped back. I just stood there and nobody noticed me walk in. " you sat with her when we got food now it's my turn" Roman and Zion kept bickering with each other, I cleared my throat and the two giants turned to look at me romans hair was back in a bun and his glasses framed his sculptured face. Zion wore a white top showing off his big biceps with black pants on, Roman was matching except he had his dog collar hanging around his neck.  They're eyes roamed me up and down before Zion let out a whistle that made me giggle. Oh my god I'm going to pass out

"I can sit in between both of you but please stop fighting".
I sat down while the two sat on either side of me. We were gonna wait for everyone else "just so you know I don't think Atlas will join us he was called into work"  Roman said, "I'm glad" I whispered Zion laughed at me "I think he likes you" I gave him a baffled look "are you insane" he turned to look at me reaching Over for the tv remote, "I'm just saying the man's feeling are all over the place" I ignored his silly remark before snatching the remote from him "we're gonna watch horror" Roman got up to get some more things from the kitchen and while I was distracted Zion tried to snatch the tv remote back "I want to watch action"  there's no way we're watching action. 

" no first horror then maybe I'll think about action" he chuckled before smirking at me I could see mischief in his eyes before he bought his face close to mine "let's make one thing clear sweet girl, I make the decisions" this man clearly doesn't know me I smiled back "yet we're going to watch what I want to watch because clearly I have the remote" that's all it took before he lunged at me I dodged and watched as he fell face first into the floor I was rolling around laughing until Bear and Manny walked in "what was the bang noise?" Zion's face was still down and he let out a groan before pointing at me "don't mess with her she's scary" they turned to look at me and I just gave them an innocent smile. "Oh by the way I'm sitting next to Anisah" manny called out I let out a groan and Zion quickly sat back up and Roman stomped in and all 3 began to argue again. Silently Bear sat next to me and we were both smiling because the others hadn't noticed yet. "Will you 3 shut the fuck up" Noah walked in wearing a fuzzy jumper with frogs on he sat next to me and nodded his head at me. Wow that's the most we ever communicated. We ignored the three idiots and began watching the scary movie.
