Nia
I always wondered what would become of me but I always knew my destiny was to be ruined by the grasps of my father.
My step father.

Arthur sterling. he's just a man he's a monster

He was once sweet and then all of a sudden there was a change he would beat me until my back was purple, he would cut me across my stomach carving out his initials on me.
I look into the mirror not an inch of my body isn't covered in some sort of scars, burn marks from when he would burn out cigarettes on me. My missing fingers were a reminder of the hell I've endured.

He called for me. My heart gets louder every time I get closer and closer to his study room.

A place of nightmares

I knock
"Enter"
I look at the older man and couldn't help but be sad, I remember a time he treated me like a princess now he barely even looks at me.

"I have a task for you, I need Atlas here he needs to come home and take over my empire" he coughs holding onto his chest still not meeting my eyes but instead typing away on his laptop. "Bring me that filthy bitch of his if he doesn't comply that's the only way to bring him home"
"You mean Anisah"
"You think I give a fuck about that poor bitches name"
"Can I ask you something" my heart beats faster once again. "Make it quick"

I take a step closer. My first mistake, "why did you adopt me?" He sighed before rolling his eyes, finally meeting me with his cold dead gaze. "I needed a girl to ruin" he had to die. What the fuck was wrong with him.

He smiled at me not the kind he used when I was younger a more sinister one, "you Nia are different even if I shot you, you'll always be my little dog, my slave you have nothing only me now get out your wasting my time"
I left quickly shutting the door gently however my heart hurt way too much.

I have a task to complete.

When we were younger Atlas took care of me. When Arthur chopped my finger off for lying Atlas helped me bandage myself up. He told me bedtime stories when I was afraid of the dark. He put in a act when me Manny and Zion were around but I always saw him wince slightly.
I always heard him cry in the middle of the night. He's the bravest out of all of us.

I pick my phone up and call him although I've not spoken to him kindly recently.

Ring ring ring it goes to voicemail

So I try again

"Why the fuck are you calling me" his voice no longer as soft as it once was. "Your in trouble Atlas" it was quiet before i continued "you need to leave and stay somewhere safe he's coming for you and your girl" the line went dead.

Oh how I wish I could turn back time and be by my big brothers side.

I was about to leave the library util I heard clapping behind me. "Why is it that everyone is suddenly turning weak" oh shit I'm dead 

I turn to see him, "I didn't think you'd have it in you I thought you always wanted to be head of the house what happened to that dream" he cocked his head to the side leaning against a bookshelf, "you were never going to give me anything, you were going to get rid of me just like you did with my mother and your wife".

His eyes widened at that, "I knew you were there that day, yet you stayed quit I wonder why" he took one step toward me "you've always been scared Nia and your mother let's just say that whore couldn't keep her legs closed so I made sure to shut them forever now she's underground"
Tears streamed down my face I mourn a women i don't even remember
Another step closer, "never once were you brave until now I'm proud of you despite you went behind my back and unfortunately this is your last day alive dear daughter of mine"
He took another step closer but my feet wouldn't move "your mother was beautiful she actually screamed your name when I ripped her throat out"
I wept my last tears this is the end for me
"Your a monster, you murdered your own wife for no reason, why are you like this how can you be so cruel?"

Are monsters made or created?

I took a step back slowly getting closer to the door. "You could say I was dropped on the head when I was born and that women tried to take my sons away from me she had what was coming, but enough of that women it's your turn now"
"I loved you once upon a time I thought finally I would have a family but fuck no, I get you why did I have to get you"
He smiled at me, that wicked smile. "I gave you a home, good food, fresh clothes what more could a orphan possible want huh"
"Love"

He clapped his hands together before bursting into laughter, "holy shit your so fucking dumb" he straightened back up wiping the smile of his face and putting his hand into his pocket retrieving something I knew all too well. This is my turn to run. The vase besides me shatter to pieces as bullets pierced around me. No one chased after me I didn't care I was too worried to care I had to get to Atlas and Manny and Zion I had to get to them.

I ran out of the study and straight to the entrance. This was my only chance I had to make it there only one chance I have to take it "Run all you fucking want Nia, you can't escape death" 
His horrid voice echoed through this wretched place.

I opens the gates and ran like hell. Ran until I could no longer see the house and for the first time I felt alive. The rain fell down on me running is all I was good at and now it's payed off I have to find him and warn him. I will protect him the way he's protected me when we were younger.

And maybe just maybe we could all be a family again and I won't have to dream of it. It can finally be a reality. I will make sure if it.
