Chapter Three: Childish

So he's hiding behind the trees, eh? The test has already begun. I thought to myself as Ren handed me one of the bento boxes.

I reached into my bag and pulled out a kunai. I sliced the ropes holding Uzumaki to the stump and held out my bento to him. "Me and Ren-nii already ate anyways."

Haruno glared at us. "Hey, sensei said not to eat before coming here."

"He never said not to eat during our time here." I resorted in a calmer manner than she had spoken in. I looked to Uzumaki to see he had, already, finished the entire bento.

Lightning filled the sky as grey clouds covered the bright blue. Hatake-sensei appeared with a dark aura clouding around him. "You five!" He shouted. "Broke my rule of not feeding Naruto."

Everyone turned their heads to stare at me, except Ren-nii since he was still eating. I shrugged my shoulders. "You wanted teamwork, I wasn't hungry, he was hungry, I showed teamwork. Where's the harm in that?"

The team then nodded their heads rapidly. "Y-yeah! What she said! We're a team so we're one!" Uzumaki shouted.

Haruno nidded her head a few more times. "Five of us are one team! Five fingers one hand!" She held out her hand with her fingers stretched out.

"Hn." Uchiha grunted.

Ren-nii and I just nodded.

"You five are one?" Hatake-sensei pondered. "Well then, you all..... pass." He said bluntly after a long pause. The other three seem to have fallen over in exasperation before jumping up in a cheer--well except for Uchiha.

Ren-nii and I were sitting near some bushes in a tree, eyeing down a fat cat with a bow tied to its ear.

"This is Sasuke, I'm now at Point B." Uchiha's voice rang through our earpieces.

"Sakura here, at Point C."

"Ren-nii and I are at Point D." I sighed in a bored tone.

"Naruto here, I'm at Point A!" Uzumaki cheered in a hushed tone into the inner-com.

"You're a bit slow there, Naruto." Hatake-sensei spoke. "Do you all have a visual of the target?"

It was silent for a second. "The target is not in sight." Uchiha stated.

"It's currently curled up and purring on top of my head." Ren-nii grumbled into the earpiece.

"Mission accomplished, it's the rich fat lady's runaway cat." I sighed.

"CAN WE GET A BETTER MISSION THEN THIS?! I HATE CATS!" Uzumaki shouted into the inner-com, nearly breaking everyone's eardrums. I grabbed the cat just as Ren-nii fell over and down the tree. Owch...

After returning the cat and watching it go through death-by-boob-hug, Uzumaki somehow convinced the Hokage to let us go on a C-Ranked mission. At least I won't have to deal with cats anymore.

We were to escort a master bridge builder back to his home in the Land of Waves. We had just left the gates and I was ignoring Haruno's questions.

I felt two unknown chakra signatures following us and looked to Rin from the corner of my eyes to see her do the same. Sensing chakra signatures. It's handy being a sensory type.

Her eyes darted to me from their corners and I blinked slowly as a nod. She blinked, slowly, and her eyes were now back to the front.

I noticed a faint smirk edge itself to her lips as she slowly fell back a few steps behind the group.

She then ran and jumped onto my back. The force of her rushing at me caused me to fall forward, but I caught myself by stepping with my right foot, splashing the puddle in front of me.

Wait... puddle? It hasn't rained for days... idiots.

"Hey, Rin, give me a warning next time." I said, playing along with her childish act.

She pouted. "Sorwy Ren-nii, but I'm sooooooo tiiiiiiired." She said in a childish tone, dragging out a few of her words.

"Hai, hai, hai... just rest then." I lazily patted her thigh as we continued walking.

"Are you sure I'm safe with these lazy brats?" The old bridge builder asked Hatake-sensei again, after asking about trusting his life to a team with Uzumaki in it.

We didn't get to far from the puddle before chains surrounded Hatake-sensei and he was 'ripped to shreds' by poison dipped chains. Well, his substitution was ripped to shreds. Poor log.

Haruno screamed and Uzumaki shouted for Hatake-sensei whiles Uchiha stood on guard before the bridge builder.

Two mist shinobi jumped out of the trees and one went straight for the bridge builder. I noticed one of them had a red foot print on the side of his face--my footprint to be precise. The other went after Uzumaki.

I kicked away the shinobi that was aiming at the builder while Rin used her own chains on the shinobi going after Uzumaki.

Her chain wrapped around his ankles and she yanked him to the ground. I saw a smirk paint itself onto her lips before she shortened her chain by wrapping it around her hand and sharted running, dragging the poor mist shinobi on the ground behind her. She ran around and up a tree, dragging the mist guy up the tree in a spiral before she jumped back down, letting the thin chain unravel from her hand, she had now tyed the mist-nin to bottom of the tree. Painfully tightly.

I used the remaining mist shinobi's own chains to tie him up next to his brother and patted my sister on the head. "Nice work, l'il sis." She smiled innocently.

"Thanks!" She chirped.
