Chapter Six: Proposition
This girl was strange, she just quietly followed by my side. She didn't complain about being tired, nore whined about wanting to take a break. On top of that she knows that I'm a criminal, she herself was a kunoichi, yet all she wanted to do was stick by me just for the heck of it.
I don't know what her real intentions are, but something in me is telling me to trust her. That she was harmless to Zabuza and I. But I knew she was up to something--acting too innocent not to be--I just had to find out what.
"Are you okay?" Her question snapped me back to reality, the first time during the whole walk she had spoken. "You zoned out there for a minute."
I nodded. "Yes, I was just thinking. Nothing to worry about."
She smiled. "That's good." We reached the hideout and I entered first, going straight to Zabuza.
I spotted him on the couch. "You should really be resting in a bed." I told him.
"And you shouldn't be bringing the enemy to our base." Was his rebuttal as his eyes narrowed at the short, raven haired girl next to me.
She simply gave a short wave. "It is nice to finally meet you, Momochi Zabuza." She bowed to him respectfully.
Zabuza grunted. "What do you want kid? Are the Genin of the Leaf really this bold yet stupid?"
She lifted her head enough to look at Zabuza. "I can't really say. I'm not really from the Leaf, but I do have a proposition for you." She layed out.
Her tone was blank from emotion, her eyes steel cold, and her aura serious. Who is she really?
"And what's this proposition of yours kid?"
"It regards the whereabouts of Sakumi and Suki Mai."
I slumped down onto the futon as my sister's clone went to take a shower. Rin had been gone for a few days now, and she's been sending me updates via messanger clone, her clone still standing in for her. It's odd being far apart from my little sister for this long, but if it's to reach our goals than I will just have to deal with it.
I had already taken a shower and gotten ready to sleep for another night. Today had been a long day of keeping Hatake-sensei from noticing Rin's absence.
Sleep began to tighten it's clutches around me and I fell into its palm willingly as I was tuckered out.
Running. That's what I was seeing.
A hoard of children running, mothers screaming, fathers bleeding... and chaos of light was all I saw.
Not shadows...
Not flames...
But light."Let me go! Please let me go! Save me! Ren-nii!" I whipped around to see a little girl dressed in a forest green dress was pinned to the ground by a man who had his lips pressed up against her neck.
"Rin!" I found myself running, but it was like I was stuck in one spot as a younger version of myself jumped and stabbed the man in the back of the neck.
The man roared in pain and turned to pin the younger me down, gripping his throat to slowly cut off oxygen.
Rin screamed and as the younger Ren brought up his arm to stab the man in the heart, Rin and also stabbed him in the back of his skull.
That night...
We lost our clan...
We lost our sanity...
And we became killers.
