Chapter Fifteen

Chapter Fifteen: Dreams

Today was a break day from training, uncle Zabu said it was a reward for making better progress than he had anticipated. So Ren was sleeping at home, no matter how much sleep he gets I don't think he'd ever give up a chance to get more. Haku had gone out to look for more medical supplies and herbs, and I was just strolling through the forest.

There's only a week left till the final round of the Chūnin exams. Something was itching at my bones, like my body knew something was going to happen during the final round, and that something wasn't going to be good.

I stopped in my tracks at the edge of a lake that was in the centre of the forest and slipped off my shoes and socks, leaving them on the shore while I started walking towards the waterfall at the other side of the lake, letting myself sink in the water. When the water became too deep, and my cargo pants were completely submerged in the lake water, I used my chakra to keep me at waist level.

I moved to stand directly under the water fall and closed my eyes. The image of hands forming the seals for the bird, ram, and then the snake flashed though my mind in quick motion. Rin Style: Hunting Mirror! Soon little birds made of water shot out of the lake and flew far in different directions at high speeds.

I opened my eyes and looked down at the lake's surface--that had became completely still--to see images form on the lake. "Come on, let me find her this time." I mumbled as the images flashed before my eyes, but every detail easily picked up by my brain.

When the jutsu was done and the birds became nothing but water, the images faded, and I was now low on chakra, I had come up with nothing. "Guess she won't be so simple to find, even if we found her final lead." I mumbled as I started slowly walking back to shore.

I reached the shore, but decided against going back on land and fell back into the water, floating on the lake's surface as the gently breeze caressed my cheeks.
