Cursed or not?

A visitor

                 - The next day -

Everyone was happy with their new staff because everyone now has some sort of powers. A lot of people would still go to Gem and see what she can do because she got the God-like staff, whilst Scott wanted to try holding his staff again. He stood in his house trying and trying to hold the staff without hurting himself but he never could. A voice stopped him.

"Scott?" Said a familiar voice.
Scott turned around quickly and started panicking because of the blood on his hands.

"Jimmy?" Scott said in a worried and mad tone.
Jimmy came into the room he was in.
He looked at Scott and without hesitation ran towards him.

"Are you ok?" Jimmy gets his staff out "What did you do?"
A light flashes and Scott's hands are normal again. This time Scott just stands there looking guilty and doesn't know what to say. Jimmy waits for an answer.

"I..." Scott says trying to think of an answer "I fell into a thorn bush and hurt my hands!"
Jimmy frowned.

"I heard you did something like this yesterday." Jimmy says, "you need to be more careful."
Jimmy and Scott both sit down together.

"Sorry about yesterday by the way, I never got to see what staff you got because of what Gem got." Jimmy says.

"It's fine," Scott smiles.
They both look at each other.
"So what staff did you get?" Jimmy asked.
Scott started to panic again.

"I didn't get one!" Scott says quickly to hide his panic.
Jimmy looks at him, confused.

"But you have to, everyone was given one even if they wanted to or not. This happens every 5 centuries, you know this!" Jimmy said.
Now Scott doesn't know what to do. Jimmy was right, after every 5 centuries whoever doesn't have one (that's alive) in that time gets a staff.

"So what did you get then?" Jimmy asks again, this time sounding a lot more serious. "It's fine if you got a Mortal one."

"I didn't get a Mortal staff," Scott says and looks down and his hands.

"So what's wrong?" asks Jimmy.
Scott sighs.

"I have a ancient staff" Scott tells him
Jimmy gasps.

"How? Is it a good one?" Jimmys shocked.

"No, it's an evil one. It's only been seen once and I think my brother had it. It's from the evil Stag God." Scott mumbles to Jimmy.

"Evil? So why do you have it? You're not evil!" Jimmy shouts.
Scott just looks at him. Scott doesn't know the answer and also wants to. They both do.

"Can I see it?" Jimmys asks.
Scott stands up. He stands back away from Jimmy and puts his hand out. The staff appears in Scott's hand and cuts through his skin. Scott yelps in pain and drops the staff making it disappears whilst falling.

Jimmy stands up as fast as he can and gets his staff out. Scott's in pain, this time the staff had cut straight through his whole hand and left a massive gory hole. Scott looked down t where he held his staff and fainted in shock.
