Chapter 9

Y/n's POV

It had been 3 weeks since I had last seen Rafe. He hasn't been at school and I haven't seen him around the island. I asked Sarah if he was home but I guess he hasn't been there either.

I couldn't tell if he was blowing me off or if he was doing blow. I'm assuming the second but damn... I miss him.

That night, I fell asleep on the phone with him. While we were talking, he seemed nervous and uncomfortable almost. I asked him if he needed to go but he insisted I stay on the phone.

When I woke up, the call had ended and I haven't heard from him since. So now here I was walking around the halls during my free period, more bored than ever.

That was until JJ popped up with a joint in his hand.

"You have no idea how happy I am that you here right now." I squeezed my eyes shut and threw my hand back as we walked down the halls.

Thankfully my free period was my last period but we weren't aloud to leave until the last bell rang so it was boring... if they caught you.

"Oh yea, what's on your mind mate?" JJ asked in Australian accent.

"Just stupid stuff... well stuff, not really stupid in my head but yea." I said.

"Well I'm here to save you, wanna go to the Château and wait for the rest of the group while we smoke a doobie?" He asked with a knowing smirk.

"Yea already know, but we should grab food first." I told him.

"Agreed. I only have a skate board soooo..." he looked at me.

"Don't worry I got mine too. Let's go!" I shouted as we exited the school and hopped on our boards.

We stopped at Haywards to grab snacks and then went to the Château. We chill in the hammocks and passed the joint back and forth as we giggled loudly.

"Dude you should have seen his face! He was so embarrassed!" JJ boasted about how he called Pope out on liking Kie.

"That's so messed up man how you gonna do him like that!" I laughed as JJ fell out of the Hammock causing us both to laugh harder.

"What the hell JJ that's my hammock don't break it!" I heard a voice behind us.

It was the rest of the group.

"Ki-Ki!" I shouted getting out of the Hammock. I fell out just as hard as JJ and ran to Kie giving her a hug.

"Hey babe." She chuckled wrapping her arms around me tight.

"I missed you." I giggled as I kissed her cheek before grabbing her a beer.

"Wow no kisses for me? I see how it is." JJ said.

"Boy hush I've been with you for an hour and you haven't asked me so fuck off." I flipped him off with a sweet smile.

"Can I get one?" John B asked with a smirk.

"No only Kie gets my kisses." I winked at her and we hooked our pinky's together with a smirk.

"And Rafe apparently.." JJ said under his breath.

"Hey shut up. I haven't even seen him in forever so let's not." I said taking a sip of my beer and Kie rolled another joint.

"Where is he?" John B asked.

"Probably on a bender in a ditch somewhere." JJ scoffed.

"I don't know.. we had this real deep conversation last time I saw him and he's kind of been avoiding me. I guess he hasn't been home either. I'm kind of worried." I said.

"Well has Kelce said anything?" John B asked

"He said Rafe told him he needed a break and went to stay at this guys house. Brent or Benny.... Oh! It's Berry! His name is Berry! I remembered." I chuckled.

"Oh yea my dad buys off of him. He lives down the street from here actually." JJ said.

Pope was just off in his own world as usual, looking at the rocks down by the sand.

"Oh yea..?" I questioned.

"Yea but please don't go there, it's not safe and Rafe will come around." Kie told me as she put little braids in my hair while the joint she rolled started getting passed around.

"Whatever, I guess I'll just wait around forever... waiting for love to find me." I said dramatically and they all laughed.

"Hey so there's gonna be a party tonight. You trynna go?" JJ asked us.

"Where at?" Pope asked walking back to us.

"Boneyard. I guess there's gonna be a huge kegger for the beginning of school. Even though we've already been started for like a month." JJ said.

"I'm down, I gotta change though. Kie you wanna come to mine to get ready?" I asked her.

"Yea sure. What time does it start?" Kie asked

"Not sure. We can just show up though." JJ shrugged as he played with his pocket knife.

"Let's just meet up here at 8." John B compromised.

"Deal, now we are going to go, get ready while pregaming with my moms wine coolers, and we will meet here when we're done. K?" I said with a smile.

"Deal, see y'all later!" JJ said and the other to said bye.

Me and Key got in her moms car which she asked for and had now had it for days, and went to my house.

"What should I wear?" I said out loud but mainly talking to myself.

"This is cute." Kie pulled out a long sleeve fishnet crop top.

"Oh this is cute, you don't think it's to like, showy?" I asked her.

"I think you would look great in it! You have a black bra right?" She asked

"Duh, hold on I'm gonna go try it on." I took the shirt and dug through my drawers for one of my black bras before I turned away from Kie and put the outfit on.

"Ok, how it look?" I asked turning around.

"Hot..." She smirked and checked me out before we both started giggling.

"Ok ok we have to figure out what your gonna wear. I'm gonna just wear jeans with this but you should wear this." I pulled out a crop top with trippy mushrooms on it and she just decided to wear her shorts.

"Ok so I don't wear much make up. Do you want to do your makeup or..." I asked her.

"Nah I'll be good." She told me. I nodded and put in mascara and concealer before grabbing my phone.

"You ready?" I asked. She nodded and we were out.

When we made it back to the Château, JJ was standing with a beer can on his head while John B tried to knock it down with small pebbles.

"What the hell?" I said and Kie laughed.

"Get use to it, I can't tell you how many times I've had to stitch them up because of dumb stuff they do." She said

"This is why women live longer." I said and we laughed.

"Hello lady's, art thou ready to go?" JJ asked as John B threw a pebble at the back of his head.

"Yes we are now stop throwing rocks at each other." I said as me and Kie hopped in the back of the Twinkie.

"Fine, come on boys, I have a feeling I'm getting lucky tonight." JJ said mischievously.

"With that forehead? No way." John B said as they got in.

"Hey man that's not cool." JJ pouted sitting next to Kie as we drove to the boneyard...
