EZ had booked a private VIP room at the Chinese restaurant, and Trinity and Tessa had decorated the room with silver and purple balloons and flowers because they were Letty's favorite colors.
Everyone that Letty cared for (minus Adelita) was there: EZ, Trinity, Tessa, Coco, Angel, his dad, and the rest of the Mayans.
Coco was the one to start the birthday toasts to his daughter.
"Letitia," Coco held up his glass. "As your father, I am so happy and proud of you. Life dealt you a shit hand, but you not only survived, you thrived. You're in school, which isn't the norm for our family. When you graduate, I'll be the first customer at your salon. You have the love of a good, decent man who I know for a fact would do anything for you. My biggest regret in life is that I didn't raise you myself. But I'm glad you've given me the honor of being your dad now. You're the best thing that ever happened to me...you and Trinity. I love you, la nina. Here's to a long and happy life. I hope all of your dreams come true."
Letty had tears in her eyes when she stood up to hug her father. "I love you too," she told him quietly. "I couldn't have asked for a better dad."
Next, it was EZ's turn to speak, and he waited for Letty to sit back down before he began. Instead of addressing her from the head of the table, he walked over and stood beside her chair, which she turned to face him.
EZ took her left hand in his own. "You know how much I love you, mi vida. You have become everything to me. I love you more than my own life. You're my old lady and my best friend. I never want to think of living my life without you at my side, living it with me." He got down on one knee and pulled the ring box from his pocket, flipping it open to show Letty the diamond ring it held. "Will you honor me by agreeing to be my wife?"
Tears were streaming down her face, and she enthusiastically nodded her head. "You know I will."
EZ no longer cared that their relationship had started because of drama. He would have killed her grandmother himself if it meant that he got to be with Letty for the rest of his life. He slid the ring on her finger and pulled her to her feet so he could passionately kiss her as they were serenaded by the clapping and wolf whistles of their friends and family.
