Chapter 6

Annexe's Pov

I stretched my arm and massaged it before ringing the doorbell. I doubt Kai has eaten or is even up at this hour but I still brought food, it's too late to cook. Moreover, I am exhausted to the core to even move an inch.

It happens when you have your one-sided enemy as your boss. If you think my day was just tiring you are wrong, it was embarrassing, infuriating, and whatnot. Even thinking about it makes me want to dig a deep hole and throw Brianna into it.

I was about to ring the doorbell again but Kai opened the door. She smiled up at me and spoke "Hello mate," I gave her a nod and walked past her to the sofa. "Come here, I brought you food"

She followed me and sat beside me. I opened the food and placed it in front of her. "Eat" I ruffed her hair and stood up to go.

"You aren't going to eat?" She asked with food stuffed in her mouth.

"I have already eaten" I answered and took a step forward to leave.

She held my hand and said "oh then can you feed me, I am knackered....please" A smile spread over my lips and I nodded.

I took the spoon from her hand and fed her with it. "You know, I made a friend at school, her name is Olivia, she is very nice to me, she helped me a lot in school, we also have the same class, I met her in the corridors when I was going to my first class, she guided me to my class then we became friends, she is also very pretty You would love her too if you met her, we have English together and...I forgot to you my English teacher is..." I hummed not really paying attention to her words.

She kept going on and on till the food was finished. I wiped her mouth with my handkerchief and said "That's enough talking for tonight, lets go to sleep now,"

She nodded and yawned. I left the living room and went to my room. I changed into some comfortable black PJs and a t-shirt. Then, I went to check on Kai.

I peeked through the door of her room and saw her sleeping in her orange shorts and half-sleeve t-shirt. I walked in and covered her body with the comforters.

I jumped onto my bed. I have to go to work again tomorrow which means I'd have to tolerate my lovely boss'. If it was only about me I'd have quit that job right away but at the minute I have a child to take care of.

I can't lose her custody because at this point I can't imagine my life without her. She might be a little queer but I adore her. Maybe my joke was offensive but that should be kept out of our professional life. Why do rich brats have to be so stubborn? just get over it.

After dropping Kai at school and then sleeping for the next hour. I drove off to my workplace and went straight into the boss' office. I looked around to see no sign of Brianna.

"She must be late," I mumbled to myself and sat down on the nearby chair.

"I am not," Brianna walked out of the washroom and wiped her hands with the towel.

She sat on her chair and leaned back "so for today...we're going to...." she went silent for a while before a smile crept on her face and she spoke "Let's go,"

She picked up her things and started walking out. I jogged up to her and questioned "Where?"

"No questions, I am the boss," She flicked my forehead.

I rubbed my forehead and followed her wherever she is taking us. I got in her car and she started driving. She turned on the radio and increased its voice. She started screaming out the lyrics, snatching away my ability to hear in the process.
