The Return of Katherine Pierce

[ Founder's Day ]

(🧛⚰️🐺💘🧙)

" I've waited 500 years for him. I no longer have the patience. "

~ KATHERINE PIERCE to JOHN GILBERT

☆《》¤

JOHN GILBERT made his way into the kitchen inside his daughter's house. Walking over to the fridge, he opened it, glancing inside. Grabbing out a bottle of water, he closed the door, jumping in fright, as he came face to face with Elena Gilbert, his niece/daughter.

"You scared me" he breathed out, placing a hand on his chest, feeling his rapid heart beat.

"I'm sorry" she apologised, but she didn't sound at all genuine as she simply walked over to the sink and started to put away the dry dishes.

"You know, I first met Isobel when I was a teenager. I fell in love with her instantly. Although, I'm pretty sure she never loved me. She was special. A part of why I hate the vampires so much is because of what she became, how it ruined her. And I never would have sent her to Damon had I known she wanted to turn."

Elena said nothing as she walked over to the kitchen bench where John stood and started to place the knives into the wooden holder.

"It's my fault. I'm telling you this because I hoped maybe you'd understand."

"Thank you." Elena sent the man a tight smile, earning one in return.

"Can I help?" he asked, coming to lean beside her.

"Sure," she said, wearing a blank expression, glancing down at his ring, before suddenly, she swung the knife she grasped in her hand and slammed it down directly onto John's fingers, slicing them clean off, causing him to let out an ear-piercing scream of agony. And in a blink of an eye, John was pinned up against the sink, the brunette gripping his collar tightly.

"Katherine?!" he gasped, his eyes almost jumping out of their sockets. Pure fear etched across every line on his face.

"Hello, John." Katherine Pierce tilted her head to the side tauntingly as the dark veins under her eyes appeared, "So, tell me. Did you find him?"

"No," he croaked.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk," she said, shaking her head tauntingly. "That's not what I wanted to hear."

"Please, you just have to give me some more time."

"I've waited 500 years for him. I no longer have the patience."

"Please!" he begged, his face turning almost as white as a ghost.

"Shh..." she taunted him, placing her pointer finger on the man's lips. "I'm sorry. But that means you are no longer any use to me. So...Goodbye, John." She flashed him a sympathetic smile, before she proceeded to stab him in the stomach.

A grunt left his lips as he grabbed at his wound, blood oozing out of him, soaking the tiles beneath his feet, before he collapsed to the floor with a thud.
