" Our father used to tell us a story about the original who almost wiped out our entire bloodline. If it wasn't for our ancestor Count Monroe managing to survive the brutal attack, we would cease to exist.

After the murder of his first wife, he went onto marry the witch that saved his life. They bore three children. Each of which tried desperately to keep there werewolf side at bay. They became masters of witchcraft, keeping their witch side dominant. Hoping to erase their families darkest secret. Keeping the beast within hidden for all eternity. 

Until one day, due to an accidental death, our great-great-grandfather triggered his curse and the Monroes worst fears came true. 

But due to centuries of witches, the spirits allowed him to keep his ability to practise magic. Hoping that one day our families would meet again. Starting a war between the Monroes and the Mikaelsons. Destroying the original family once and for all. And that's how the first ever werewolf-witch hybrids were born. 

It became a tradition in our family that once each child reached the age of eighteen, they would trigger their curse under a blood moon and be reborn as a true hybrid. "
