FAMILY HERITAGE 
The Claire Family (Latin: Clarus; translates as 'Bright' or 'Clear') is one of the main families in the French Quarter Coven and a matriarchal bloodline of powerful witches. The family were originally nomads, before they eventually settled in the town of Salem, Massachusetts. However, after the witch trials began, the family relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana in 1692. They lived in the town and worked closely with vampires for over three hundred years. The Claire family is known to be dominated by women. The family has been linked to both the Mikaelson and Bennett families since the 10th Century A.D. The Claire family is also descended from a Traveler bloodline, as Revna Ingrid Claire-Mikaelson was known for being the most powerful and gifted member of the Traveler community during the 10th Century A.D. Audrey Maya Claire, Aurelia Maeve Claire, Davina Claire and Dianna Claire Bennett are the last living members of the Claire family.
