_________
Dan found Olivia knocked out on his couch around noon that day. Without a blanket in sight, she'd been curled up in a ball watching a horrifying episode of American Horror Story.
He found it odd in the fact that there was nothing comfortable about this scenario.
It was when he fetched a blanket for her that he saw what was in her hand. Her phone, whatever. Oh, but another thing he notices is that it's on.
Oh?
He was actually going to mind his business and simply lock the phone and set it on the charger until he became aware of the image that was stuck on its screen.
Of course it was Shawn's post. Of course it was a picture of Minnie eating strawberry ice cream and of course Olivia had to see it and stare at it and so horribly torture herself over it.
Dan took a peek at the caption.
shawnmendes: mi amor 🤍
Gag me, he thought. Dan was completely and utterly tired of Shawn fucking Mendes. He's never been a macho man, but right about now, he'd kill to beat that little shit's face in.
Doing away with the picture and the phone, he wondered. Would it be all that bad to contact Minnie now? Even after all this time? It certainly wouldn't be awkward, would it? They were never awkward. Never.
So, maybe he would. Maybe.

Minnie woke up to the incessant buzz of her phone, groaning as she couldn't, for the life of her, figure out which sheet it was lost between.
"Minnie?" Shawn yawned, his sleep disturbed by the constant rustling of the sheets... and a vibration in an odd place.
"I can't find my fucking phone."
"I think it's under me." Shawn rubbed at his eyes, a plan in mind.
"Perfect. It's killing me." She looked to him expectantly, her hand out.
"Whatcha doin'?" Shawn teased.
"Hand it over." Minnie spoke as though it was obvious.
"I... don't think I will." Shawn smirked, closing his eyes as he feigned a sigh. "It's a nice day, huh?"
"Withholding me from objects is becoming your character flaw, you know that?" She squinted.
Shawn chuckled. "You're really hot when you're annoyed, you know that?"
"'Course I do." Minnie leaned in to Shawn, her tongue swiping across his bottom lip as he, too, inclined forward.
Intricately devouring each other, Minnie's eyes opened, backing up ever so slightly so that Shawn would follow.
Consequently, she could reach the tiny screen that was previously under her boyfriend. And so, she reached behind him, claiming her prize and thus, pulling away with a smirk.
Shawn trailed after the kiss, a frown setting in his features as Minnie settled back on her pillow and focused onto her phone.
She threw her head back at her discovery. "A random number is what's preventing me peace."
He peered at her... waiting for the continuation of their antics.
"What?" She asked, looking up from her phone.
