Meanwhile, thousands of miles away, Nam sits at the breakfast table, the weight of disappointment settling heavily on his shoulders. He had anticipated sharing the first meal of the day with Jungkook, envisioning moments filled with laughter and shared glances.
Instead, the silence around him amplifies the absence of his partner. Pushing his plate aside, uneaten and suddenly unappetizing, he stands to gather his belongings — his bag, lunch container, and a neatly folded handkerchief. With a sigh, he exits the small kitchen, the longing for Jungkook echoing in his heart as he heads to the office, lost in thought.
Time moves on, a blur of hours filled with routine and distraction until Jungkook finally arrives at the hotel. As he steps inside, he takes a deep breath and offers a casual, yet heartfelt.
"See you later, Hyung" to his bandmates before shutting the door behind him.
Once alone, he releases a long sigh, feeling the weight of the day bearing down on him. With a sudden burst of force, he tosses his bag onto the bed, then collapses beside it, the soft duvet a stark contrast to the solitude surrounding him.
He turns his head, surveying the elegant hotel room; it is beautiful, yet devoid of the comfort and familiarity of their shared bedroom.
Crap... The realization hits him like a shockwave — he forgot to call Nam. Sitting cross-legged on the bed, he pulls out his phone and notices five missed calls lighting up the screen. Panic surges through him as he tries to call back, but the call rings endlessly without connecting.
Frustration mounts as he attempts again and again, but after three unsuccessful attempts, he disgustedly throws his phone onto the bed and grabs his leather jacket, anxiety coursing through his veins.
"Why is this happening again? He must be upset with me. Why couldn’t I remember sooner? Ugh. What if Namjoon doesn’t return my call? What if he starts... No, no, no... think positively, Jungkook. You're his husband. He loves you... Yes, he loves me... But Namjoon..." His thoughts spiral, creating a chaotic whirlpool of worry as he paces back and forth, muttering to himself.
Just then, a gentle knock interrupts his turmoil. He opens the door to find his Hyung, Hoseok, standing there with a look of concern etched on his face.
"Hobi Hyung," Jungkook greets, forcing a smile despite the heaviness in his heart.
"Jungkook-ah... I forgot to grab my charger. Can I... Jungkook-ah, what’s wrong?" Hoseok’s eyes scan Jungkook's face, detecting the sadness lingering there.
"Huh?" Jungkook stammers, caught off guard.
"Jungkook-ah... You look sad. Your eyes are full of tears." Hoseok speaks with warmth, concern wrapping around his words like a comforting embrace.
As Hoseok finishes speaking, Jungkook can no longer hold back his emotions; tears spill down his cheeks unbidden. In an instinctive reaction, he steps forward and envelops Hoseok in a tight embrace, desperately seeking the comfort and understanding that only a close friend can offer.
"Hobi Hyung... I am feeling really sad right now... It's about him... Namjoon."
"Jungkook-ah... Hey! Please stop crying. Your Hyung is here for you. Just tell me what happened and why you're feeling this way. Come, sit with me," Hoseok said softly, trying to offer comfort to his younger friend.
