The first Ummite shuttles arrived but the troops and soldiers forced the civilians, the elves, some beastmen to hold flags in honor of the dignitaries who came to visit the planet while Tyran looked at his new acquisition from space in his destroyer palace. He could see the moon and the earth and behind it... there was the Keeper of the Idol, the Alien Artifact that gave all the magic to the inhabitants and recycled their existence as the elves and other races sometimes had difficulty adapting on worlds conquered and rebuilt by the Ummites.
Obviously, the inhabitants of the Village saw for themselves who they worshipped and they were not at all as they thought. They thought they were following angelic beings, full of good will, but the reality was quite different.

His arguments were noble and selfless but ... often ... choices have consequences.
Those who didn't pick up flags fast enough were getting a stick in the face...
Mandragus gritted his teeth and went to the hydra temple himself, masked by tarps so as not to irritate the Ummites. Even the statue of the hydra had been covered and hidden under tons of hay bales.
He went himself, alone in the black tabernacle and cut his hand, his blood in offering.
"O mighty Destroyer...Forgive me for not listening to your son sooner.... I was blinded. Mercy for me. Mercy for my people..."
And... the next moment he was in space, on the edge of a vortex, a black hole...
The protective bubble was so small... so fragile...
